The Barred Owl is the best place to relax with a great cocktail, enjoy amazing food, and meet new friends! The atmosphere is laid back and classy! Put this place on your frequent hangout list, trust me…you’ll love it!

The Thai food was amazing tonight.
I have shared a picture of the Spring Roll salad, Thai Green Curry, and Thai chicken sandwich. Every bit was a true delight. If you're ever in the area, I suggest you check out the Fiddlehead Kitchen located in the The Barred Owl.

Love Fiddlehead!
Wife and I have eaten there many times and each time is better than the last. Fresh ingredients, spot on seasoning and menu items you can't find anywhere else.
Great place.

How to order from Fiddlehead Kitchen: One of everything! Sarah & Marlee make the most delicious dishes. Fresh & loaded with out of this world flavor! A true gem in smalltown Balsam Lake ?

Get it while you can.The most popular items can run out fast, so best to be early. Larger groups should call the day before so the kitchen can prep extra. If your group is large enough, it doesn't get any better than the to-go catering. Custom menus can range from snack boards, (consisting of local meats/cheese paired with house made breads and thoughtfully prepared seasonal produce) to scratch made foreign dishes and curries. In spite of a constantly changing menu, there is a consistent quality in all the food Fiddlehead serves. With local classics like fish fry, quiche, & shepards pie, or more adventurous options like the Bahn Mi or Khao Soi, there are no bad choices to make while ordering (only difficult ones).I could go on, but I'm starting to get hungry...

My wife and I attended the Pleasures of the Table event at 123 South Washington in St. Croix Falls. It was a beautiful evening. The multi-course menu and venue were out of this world! It was an experience that we will remember for a long time. Sarah and Marlee gave a short narrative before each course. Fantastic! We also attended a catered event of the St. Croix River South of Hudson. It was Thai food that was delicious and unique. Many other attendees also gave rave reviews. Excellent! In addition we experienced their food at the Barred Owl. The menu is always changing. These ladies add a special flare to each of the items I have tasted. Give them a try at the Barred Owl or at one of their special events! I also would not hesitate use them to cater an event!

A sazerac, a paper plane, and a pop up chef all walk into a bar in Balsam Lake. It isn't funny, it's amazing. From the moment you enter and see the decor, lights, and featured cocktail listed next to an obligatory mounted fish, you're hooked. The cocktails are craft and couture, made with precision and love from Martin. Sarah from fiddlehead kitchen made the best BLT, elote Mac N cheese, and tarragon fries ever. Chenny served up the Malört, just to prove the Fernet Branca wasn't up on the shelf for bougie irony. She's a cocktail pioneer. It was an epic meal, adorned with perfect cocktails and excellent company. I'd recommend until I was out of breath. Just go. Twice.

Cannot say enough great things about the Fiddlehead Kitchen team. I've ventured to the Barred Owl for two of their pop-ups and I look forward to seeing their new menus every week. Everything they make is delightful paired with the drinks and general vibe of the Barred Owl.

Went to Fiddle head at the Barred owl for Brunch. I liked the place. Food was good. There was just little things that made our experience disappointing. No orange juice or other juices. Asked for a cover for take out cup and was told no. Tables too short for chairs makes for difficult eating.

Dietary restrictions: I have some diet restrictions it can be hard to eat out. I found many options at this place.
