Room #1. Door is directly left of front desk. No egress window. No table. No hangars. Live music in restaurant shakes the room until 10pm. Clean. But WAY overpriced.

I had a meeting in the area with a client and decided to spend the night at this establishment. I'm sure glad I did. I had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back. The rooms where a little on the smaller side (I stayed in the 6 person/2 level suite) but they where nice and clean and did the job. The atmosphere was great and the view of the lake was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The restaurant was excellent and I highly recommend the new ahi tuna dish. Delicious. We stayed last night on their bingo night and that was a blast. What a great group of people staff and guests! I very much enjoyed the stay and look forward to coming back!

Cabin was very nice but older. No window air conditioners and it was very hot. One fan was provided for 3 bedrooms. Be prepared to bring additional fans. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. We did have to buy extra toilet paper.

We stayed here on a family vacation - 3 families 3 different rooms. The rooms were not very private with the big windows. The location and views of the lodge are amazing. However, the staff and organization of running the place needs a lot of work. We had issues reserving our rooms and when we arrived the rooms could have been cleaned better. There was a huge storm causing the power to go out. The rain all ran into our room and the floor was soaked the whole time we were there. The room service really lacked and one day we did not see house keeping at all. The restaurant had good food but the service was very slow. Balsam Lake Lodge & Restaurant has a lot of potential but in the meantime a lot of bumps in the road to figure out.

A "very good" place that could be "excellent" with a bit more attention. Superb view of Balsam Lake from a world class stone patio adorned with top shelf deck furniture and features (two fire places, outdoor pub, cornhole game, etc). Rooms very modern and inviting. But....minor oversights detract from overall experience: the place could use a leaf-blower to tidy up entrance and parking lot (see pictures); there is a perpetually soaked (and therefore useless) doormat leading from the patio to the indoor pub. All it does is allows patrons to track dirty water on to the pub floor. The staff was very nice, but you may find yourself having to track them down in order to get help as a hotel guest (2 towels provided in a 4 guest bedroom...and no bathmat (?), extra coffee cups, etc. I would stay here again...I just hope the owner/management reads this so they can address these minor issues.

This lodge has more comfortable beds than the IHG brand(Holiday Inn). I am a property adjuster and travel all over. Restaurant has amazing food, they are short staffed at the moment(college girls went back to school) The waitstaff and kitchen still take care of you, just a little slower right now but I just soaked in the most amazing serene view and relaxed. Rooms clean, AC works amazingly and internet superb. I would give 10 stars if I could. My only advice is a room or two that has whirlpool jacuzzi tubs. I definitely will stay here again when passing through!!!!
