Stopped in from out of town. The Barred Owl is a very cool place with a great ambiance. The staff was nice and cordial, made me feel welcomed. They had two chefs doing a "pop-up" food service that evening as well. It was impressive. I highly recommend this establishment.

Absolutely LOVE this bar. This fiddlehead girls have perfected their food craft and make the best dishes when they do pop ups here. Cheney and her staff at the Owl make the BEST cocktails. Definitely a must try if you are in the area. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!! The "Howie Do It" is a MUST! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 1000% recommend!

Absolutely loved it! The experience was relaxing and the drinks were refreshing. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu - very sweet girl! My only critique is the servers’ uniforms didn’t quite match the atmosphere and were a bit outdated. It was a lovely sunny evening on the rooftop looking over Lincoln! I will definitely be back!

Never had a cocktail there I didn’t thoroughly enjoy to the last drop. And I’d you reorder, it tastes perfectly identical to the last. My only input would be to add some acoustic tiles as when it gets busy, it really loud and hard to visit/hear. But other than that- love the place!

I’ve been to the Barred Owl a couple of times. I love the ever changing menu and unique cocktails. Fantastic desserts too. I highly recommend stopping in for dinner and drinks.

We enjoyed this place on a whim! They made a wonderful Boulevardier and the Old Fashioned were fantastic! Bonus, they had toys for our nearly two years old as well as an assortment of toddler friendly snacks - who knew!?
Very impressive decor, to say the least. Intimate lighting, cozy seating, just enough space all coupled with the music makes the ambiance there simply enchanting. Jill & Tanner are absolutely stellar behind the bar. The cocktail menu is sophisticated. The place just oozes style and class. Definitely a must visit in Balsam Lake. Cheers?

This place has been on my list since the owner was in my store after we opened up from the Covid shutdown. The Barred Owl has such a cool vibe, great cocktails and an amazing building that has Victorian sitting room upstairs, complete with gold-gilt pictures on the walls! If you’re in the Balsam Lake area, put The Barred Owl on your hotlist…it may become my new favorite haunt!!
