Great place, welcoming, food was great, the salad bar was my husband's favorite. The entire Barnes area is so fun for ATV shenanigans. We will be back!

September 15, 2024 Fantastic Northwoods supper club with great food and service. We have the pan fried blacken fish and salad bar. Kool old school salad bar. Zac, the bartender was very attentive. When I asked about gluten-free beer he had one. He was very polite and asked the kitchen what would be a good gf choice for dinner. We both strong suggest giving them.a try.

Really nice salad bar. Make sure you have reservations. Even though there are many empty tables, there will need to be a conference in front of you to determine if they can seat you. My husband had the scallops and decreed them “good”. I had the Alfredo and added “grilled chicken”. The sliced chicken was incorporated isn’t the penne pasta and some white sauce coated in what I assumed was Parmesan cheese. With a little salt and a lot of pepper I determined a flavor. The texture of the chicken ( if that is what it was) was odd. Maybe try the overpriced steaks? Order the salad bar. Can’t do that wrong.

The food was excellent. Our service was definitely lacking. We had a reservation for 6 which I had proof of on a text from Google assistant. When we arrived, they had written us down as a party of 4. They seemed absolutely baffled as to how they would seat us even though they wrote our party size down incorrectly.

The servers were very young.. looking about 15 maybe? There was no professional greeting, welcome, or apology for the slip up on their part. We weren’t able to sit in the dining room and stuck us in a corner table in the bar.

We weren’t given any silverware and had to ask twice. The waitress seemed confused by every request we made. She never checked on us… we had to ask for everything. Thankfully the food was good and affordable. This was the last night of our family vacation and if the food had been as poor as the service, this would be a never return for me.

Food was delicious. Their salad bar is, by far, my FAVORITE of all I've eaten from. Scott and Colleen always greet us like family. It's a beautiful restaurant that we always make an effort to visit when we're in Barnes.

First time at Cedar Lodge. Happened to be in the area on a Friday so we thought we would try the haddock fish fry. We were fairly early (530ish) so place wasn't too busy. We were immediately seated and tables quickly filled. The southern comfort old fashioned was great. Not sure why there was a $1.00 upcharge for olives instead of cherries. I ordered the Haddock fried fish with mashed baby red potatoes. My husband ordered the broiled Haddock with fries. The salad bar was excellent. The bartender went on a search for paper napkins so we didn't have to touch the salad bar tongs. This was greatly appreciated. The meal was good. My husband had a huge serving of fries. Also yummy zucchini on plate. My potatoes as well as my husband's fish were cool but not cold. Plenty of food. We are fish fry snobs so trust me when I say we have had bad fish. Only real concern, the noise in the dining room was incredibly loud. Overall we were pleased and will return.

A few months prior to the date we stopped by in hopes this would work out. The food was great and they had the date open! We were planning a small wedding with 35 people and needed a restaurant that could accommodate in a specific geographical radius near our family cabin.Colleen was a dream to work with. She came up with great ideas for the menu options, although most of our guests opted for steak. She accommodated our requests and was careful about food allergies. The night before she had tables all set up and she let a small crew of us decorate which took under and hour. The space did not need much; it already had great lighting. The night of our wedding they had a great team downstairs for the dinner and cocktail hour--friendly and savvy. Drinks were strong. We had cheese curds for appetizers ? and food was great. I had chicken tetrazzini with wild rice.I wasn't sure if people would dance since it was a small family wedding but we brought in a big bluetooth speaker and the kids took it from there and had fun on a huge dance floor and served as entertainment for the evening. I am glad we had the size wedding we did but I think they could accommodate larger groups too.I have heard of a lot of wedding venues nickel and diming couples and there was absolutely none of that with Cedar Lodge. We had a great time and it was very low stress!Thank you Colleen and Cedar Lodge!
