At first, we were a little surprised to see only two items on the menu for lunch today, but we were well rewarded with the vegetarian strata that is made with housemaid focaccia. You should honestly get a coffee as well because it’s really strong and really delicious and when you ask for milk, they bring a tiny little cup of steamed milk for you! truly classic and delicious!

A fun day trip to Red Wing and then a fabulous dinner at Chef Shack in Bay City. The food was amazing, we did the tasting menu. This is a dining experience with exceptional service, plan a couple hours. I can't recommend it enough.

Wonderful View looking out to the river. Watch the Eagles fish. The food in the cozy atmosphere is French , locally grown. Fresh and moves fast though the Seasonal fruits and vegetables to have a surprisingly good variety. Loved the tasting menu. Chef’s Choice. Make a reservation for that event. You can look up on line the menu.. Make sure you have a few hours to enjoy it completely.
Everyone working was friendly and the food and drinks were great. The 2 chefs' takes on an Italian feast was fantastic and at a nice pace, every course was excellent

What a delightfully tantalizing experience! On a cold winter day I was met with comforting warmth from the staff that greeted me and the beautiful wood burning stove. I was enveloped with the sensations of the quaint and cozy environment. Chef Shack is truly an experience. I would have never imagined I could find a place like this in Bay City. I tasted the love in every bite of my food and the craftsmanship in every sip of my drink. What a treat!

Perfect Sunday Brunch! After a stunning fall drive, a hike on the bluff and popping into cool women owned shops in Maiden Rock and Stockholm, the PERFECT finish is women owned CHEF SHACK brunch. Menu is simple and each dish is perfection, made even better by the hosts/ owners taking care of each person as if they are a guest in their house. done several brunches and eager to go back for dinner.
