Tried them last month and meals were ok. Thought we would give it another go. We paid extra for soup and sald bar. We were told soup was shrimp bisque but was cream of rice with shrimp. The only thing on the salad bar was lettuce and tomatoes and then dressing. NOT FOR 4 of us at $8 each. They were out of all appetizers and bacon. Both pasta dishes were very bland and were not eaten. Must have been out of BBQ sauce cause the ribs came with a honey mustard. Pork schnitzel came with no gravey just mustard. Drinks have no alcohol, shame as it has a great atmosphere. Might give it a shot for the fish fry as someone else posted " stick to the fish fry".

Dwayne the bartender is the surliest person! Was more focused on how much our drinks would cost, never offered a refill. Very grumpy.

First time back since new owners took over. We went for fish fry, ordering both the haddock and perch. Generous portions on both and the deep fry batter was done perfectly. Perused the rest of menu and seems pricey when it doesn't include soup or salad unless you pay $8. We think that would make a difference if a change was made to include these or possibly some senior specials. Words out amongst the locals that they are pricey and you can tell from the parking lot. There is still time to make some adjustments. We wish them well and won't hesitate to come back for fish fry.

The whole experience was spectacular. The service was very courteous, fast and the atmosphere was perfect. Quite possibly the best Fish Fry I’ve ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be coming back!!!!

From the freshly hand made soups WOW!!! Salad bar was clean with fresh ingredients.
I'm very Grateful we found this Gem in the woods along a river.
Fantastic staff made me feel like they are glad we came in.
The gentleman making the drinks is a professional for sure
PRIME RIB is worth any wait you may think is long.
Everything I have tasted was incredible!

Second time in, great food great service from Kaylee. Highly recommended

This has always been a favorite place for my husband and I becasue of the great experiences we have always had. Today, which happened to be our anniversary, our experience was awful. As soon as we entered the place, we weren't receive in a welcoming manner. The waiter asked us to sit at a table or the bar and when we asked if we could sit at the patio his reply was "good luck with that". I asked him what he meant by that and he proceeded to say that he was trying to keep everyone inside because it was too warm out and pointed to his clothing. We said we wanted to be at the patio precisely becasue of the warm weather. He asked if we wanted menus, handed them to use and walked away. We sat at the patio and another waitress came to us also with a bad attitute. It was as if we were inconvineincing them becasue we sitted outside. Isn't one of the main features of this restaurant the patio by the river? The waitress kept her distance from us standing at the opposite end of the the table. This was a 6 person table and my husband and I were sitting in front of each other at one end and the waitress always stood at the other end. Eveyrthing she served she placed at a distance from us and we had to bring it to us. No smile, no name, no interaction. The day was saved by a young man that appeared to be training and came to checked on us very politely, and of coarse, the great food, so kudos to the cook!

I really want this place to be successful but there is a lot of work to be done and it starts with service. First of all it is impossible to order a prime rib that is rare or even medium rare. Our server was rather grumpy and had a take it or leave it attitude. Despite the fact that most restaurant/bars get more than 50% of their revenue from bar sales, our server never bothered to take drink orders. The one person in our party that ordered a beer, never got it. Then it was the age old problem of splitting the check. We had a group of seven, and were told in no uncertain terms that the owner does not allow for seperate checks. The only thing they could do was accept a maximum of two credit cards with the bill split in half. The p.o.s. systems available today make this a piece of cake. The owner has instead, made this decision to make it as complicated as possible. Today we went to the P.I pub and were thrilled with the service and ability to split checks. This is not rocket science and we will not be back until there are changes.

Have eaten there a few times and had great service and food. Recently we took friends from out of town. The waiter was complaining about how much he works, hurried us to order our drinks ( I just sat down) never asked us if we needed anything else and our food orders were mixed up. We had to go find him to order more drinks. Our friend paid cash and left him a 30.00 tip on a 200 plus bill. The waiter asked why we didn’t tip him more. We will never go back! We go out to eat to be waited on. Work on your hospitality!

Best two sandwiches I've had in a VERY long time in Wisconsin! Their French fries were super fresh, hot and perfectly seasoned, I was already impressed! Then, I tasted their prime rib sandwich with caramelized onion jam and it was perfection. The hot beef sandwich with onions and provolone was also perfect. I couldn't believe it, It was super. Especially that prime rib, because they took it after cooking and grilled it, thus the spectacular grill flavor. Thank you Headwaters for super food!
