It eats at me that I never made this review. I had been here a handful of times prior and it was always an amazing super club. I went awhile back and it was my understanding it was under new ownership.
My girlfriend and I both ordered expensive steaks and everything was going well until our entrees came out. There was a rotten meat smell accompanying our dishes. We both took a bite and looked at each other, saying it had the same taste as smell. I’ve cooked enough bad beef to know when to throw it out based on the smell while cooking, and the chef had to know while cooking it as well.
We brought it up to our waitress and she stated she would let the chef (the owner) know, and she shortly came back and says she didn’t bring it up to him because he was in a bad mood. We were served bad steak and they didn’t do anything about it! Needless to say, we didn’t eat our steak and I have been spending my money on other nice places instead and haven’t been back since.

The Guides Inn in Boulder Junction is awesome. Rachel, our server, took great care of us - her 16 years of hospitality and experience was evident. Everything was excellent - appetizer, Walleye Cheek fritters, relish tray w/ liver pate & garlic/ herb butter spread, mushroom/ truffle bisque, spinach salad w/ hot bacon dressing (or fresh garden salad, your choice) - entrees were perfect - pan fried walleye, coquilles St James, coquilles St Osep - delicious. This Supper Club is a Northwoods and Wisconsin Supper Clubs book stalwart.

Rudest Supper Club in Vilas County. Walked in, no one said anything and just looked at us. Bartender was useless as well as the table servers AND we had reservations.

You will want a reservation.
We made a reservation on Thursday for Friday at 5pm, we got there at 5 ordered our drinks and were seated immediately. Our waitress was great, very knowledgeable of everything they offer. The whole experience was wonderful and the atmosphere is very joyous. They give you a veggie tray to start and we had the walleye cheeks for an appetizer and they were phenomenal. Then the salad comes and then the soup. They were both great! Main course was a ribeye and beef Wellington. They were not done enough to start but she was so gracious about taking it back to the kitchen to be less pink.
This place is such a gem and is a real deal supper club.
We are so glad we came and definitely will be back, thank you for having us!!

Awesome food.
We’ve been coming up to the area for 10 years and never came here before but wanted to try something new. Food was excellent but on the pricier side. Surf and turf $90; my scallops dish, which was amazing, included five scallops topped with mini crab cakes was $52. It was an excellent dish. They did give everyone soup, salad, and a relish tray. We also had two very yummy shrimp appetizers. food quality was excellent but the interior had kind of a lame (oddly bright and quiet) and outdated vibe that if improved could add to the overall experience.

Walked in. Empty tables everywhere. Asked if we had a reservation. We did not since it was a Wednesday night. Got told they are fully booked for the night event though the place was half empty. Great service.
Go hungry. Several courses. It's a great special date spot. Or romantic couples. Kids are okay, but it's a dining experience. Leave them home. Lol. Been going there for 20 years.
Recently dined here for an anniversary dinner. The walleye and the halibut special were absolutely delicious. Can't wait to be back.
First time. Great atmosphere and recently updated. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The starters were very good and fresh, the spinach salad, bread, the soup, Relish Tray, The main entrees very well prepared as well. Had the rack of lamb. We also had the halibut with homemade pasta. Both were fantastic!! The pasta was some of the best I've had. The lamb and the mustard sauce very tasty too. Clean and tables spaced enough we did not have to raise our voices to talk. Gets busy at prime dinner time. Reservations are a good thing to have to reduce wait times.
Definitely worth checking out if your looking for a great dining experience!
The service and atmosphere were top notch. We enjoyed the spinach salad with hot bacon dressing, baked French onion soup, and the stellar chicken Wellington. What a culinary masterpiece!
