Consistently the best food in the area. Every dish of every course is carefully prepared and delicious.

I can't say enough good things about the people at Red Oak. Everyone who works there is delightful, friendly, professional, and accommodating. Their mission of serving local farm foods is also wonderful, and not only helps the community, but I feel better about what I'm feeding my family. The chef crafts a seasonal menu and great specials based around what is in season. Plus the food is delicious. We typically come for Sunday brunch, but dinners are equally great. We live in Illinois but spend time in the area frequently during warmer months, and dine here regularly. Family friendly. Great patio (occasional bees, beware). Fireplace in colder months. Retail items like locally made jams. Highly recommended!

We have been to The Red Oak many times and love the farm to table locally sourced menu. We had some friends in from MN and they were equally impressed.

Waited at our table over one hour. Food was average.

Fun and unique place to dine. Great option for fine dining due to the lack of good restaurants in and around the area.

You completely ruined NYE. You took our reservation of 8pm. You brought us our appetizer at 8:55pm. Then you offered us our dinner at 9:20pm. Three other tables, including a table with five yelling young girls were served before us....no thank you in 2025.

The atmosphere is cozy. The food and drinks were as tasty as they were beautiful. I also love the sustainability policies and that they give credit yo their local suppliers.

mandatory 20% tip.

Disappointing, read other reviews about service being slow which is fine as long as you have drinks/apps to chat and hangout with. but our service was nonexistent. Everything was snails pace from being seated to leaving. We tried to be patient as our server mentioned he was newer and we could see the staff was very frazzled. It was busy but not busy enough to where the service was warranted. i truly think they had forgotten we were sitting there. the table behind us, you could see that they were actually going to the bar to get there drinks.

the food was delicious which is the only reason for any stars. unfortunately probably would not go back.'

We were celebrating my son's birthday and was underwhelmed by the food and drinks. Staff were courteous and friendly. Drinks were so overpriced and the craft cocktails were sugary and watered down. We had the sliders w/fries, grilled cheese with veggie soup of the day (so thick it was more like a sauce) and drinks. Our tab came to $120 total, so overpriced for the quality of the food and drinks.

We started with creamy mushroom vegetable soup and roasted Brussels sprouts which were excellent. Our entrees of cedar plank salmon, filet, bison meatloaf, and butternut squash vegan option were delicious!

It's been awhile since we had visited Red Oak and we had a delightful return to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We each had a cocktail - the Red Oak Paloma for me and the Kinnickinnic Sour for Spouse. Both were delicious and refreshing. I had the Roasted Chicken with Pumpkin Puree & Risotto, and Spouse had the Butternut Squash with Quinoa Stuffing. Both were delicious and well prepared. We will look forward to returning more often.
