Excellent service and food. Love the farm to table business model and that all artwork is local, for sale, and the money goes to the artist with no restaurant commission. Menu is unique and changes seasonally. Will eat here again for sure.
We had a group of six drinks came out very slow instead of bringing them all out together new bartender, and training
Two of the dishes were very good. The meatloaf entrée was disappointing.. service was good with taking orders, but I had brought two new guests that I had never been there so I had to ask the server to explain about the restaurant. Later we had to ask the soup and when we went to order, then we asked if there were specials which there were so it took us more time to figure out what we decided. Having to ask multiple questions instead of a proper greeting was a bummer. There was only one other table seated, our waitress would disappear for 15/20min.... Didn't check to see how our food was until it was finished. I have been here multiple times and it was excellent. This was the first time of a disaster.
Always outstanding! Great service, creative delicious food and a warm and inviting atmosphere
I really wanted to love this experience. I am such a fan of farm to table and love the concept of paying employees in hospitality a living wage. But unfortunately, this place really missed the mark. Service was clumsy, which is something that happens sometimes, so you can get over it typically. However the entire dining experience was really subpar. The value is just not there. For a place in the middle of the county in Wisconsin that has Chicago prices, you expect there to be a certain level of quality. This place does not have that. The portions are ridiculously small. The presentation of the dishes is half thought out with extra large dishes coming out that are one third filled. The bill at the end felt disproportionate to the experience had. It just was overall very disappointing and not somewhere I would recommend nor somewhere I will go back to.
Enjoy our anniversary dinner here every year. Love their farm to table fall menu... Pumpkin Martini my favorite. Dinner was delicious and well presented. Olivia provided excellent service and helpful tips. Red Oak is a gem!
We had a great meal at the Red Oak. Expansive wine list with many good choices, along with specialty cocktails. Excellent entrees, with many choices that would work for vegetarians, gluten-sensitive and those needing kosher food. Desserts will beautifully presented and clearly made in house. The breadsticks on the table were especially good! The restaurant has a homey atmosphere with high ceilings and a fireplace. Artwork from local artists decorates the walls and is available to purchase. There is a lengthy explanation on the menu about their tipping process (20% added automatically, with tips pooled and divided equally amongst servers). The menu also lists their farm partners, which was much appreciated. Our waitress was new and a bit challenged, but she did her best. Only major issue was an error on our bill (forgot to charge for both desserts) which sent her back to us after the bill had been paid to collect additional money. We had a nice chat with the general manager as we left. She was very personable and shared more about the restaurant and their philosophy. We will definitely return if we have the opportunity, since we do not live in the area.
Excellent food and service. Seasonal menu with locally sourced foods. Cocktails were well balanced and not too sweet.
The service was super slow and I had to sed my chicken back because it was very over cooked.
Absolutely delicious, food and drinks always deliver. It is expensive so just as long as you're prepared for that, you won't be disappointed. Menu is unique, definitely different than anywhere around.

Food was fresh and delicious. Service was prompt and comfortable. Highly recommend this restaurant, we will return!
This restaurant is fantastic! You can tell when something is made with care, everything is so fresh and homemade. I can't say enough good things, and you should definitely visit this gem of a restaurant ❤️
Loved the service, fantastic martini, the food was underwhelming, however. Dry fish and bitter eggplant. They noted the sous chef was working, but still. Would try again based on the fantastic service and ambiance. Maybe just an off night.
A recent visit to The Red Oak was exceptional. The warm and inviting ambiance, with its cozy lighting and thoughtful decor, set the perfect tone for a delightful evening. The food was a highlight. Each dish was a testament to the chef's expertise and dedication to fresh, high-quality local ingredients. The overall experience was seamless and memorable, making a return visit desirable to explore more of their delicious creations.
Great food Great service This was our second visit. They fully embrace the farm to table aspect with outstanding results. We'll return soon and often for summer/fall harvest!
