The service was very good at home feeling from atmosphere and wait staff... food is decent not 5 star but I wouldn't expect that from a family restaurant either! Good place to go for drinks and food!

Been here twice, have tried the parmesan crusted walleye and the lake perch, unfortunately the walleye was way too greasy, worst I have ever had and the perch was dry and the coating was over done and too crisp/hard, i have had frozen fish that taste similar or better than this and I can put it in the oven and don't have to spend $3.80 for a drink pepper that is watered down and tastes terrible, not anything like dr pepper should taste.waiter was friendly, the potato pancakes were excellent, as was the coleslaw slaw, tarter sauce and the marble rye bread.so, if you want everything to taste good except the fish, then this is the place for you, for perch this bad, I won't be coming to the butler inn anymore.

Been a patron of this fine establishment for decades! We used to drink, eat and play pool in the back! We'd order lunch from here a couple times a week from the factory and they'd allow me to go pick it up. Made excellent tips! Food was absolutely outstanding! My family had many fish frys that were the best ever and we all enjoyed meeting here. Always fun and delicious 😋

Friday night fish fry, and the cajun turtle soup are the best, I have always sat at the bar as I am usually traveling alone, the staff has always been very attentive and friendly every time I have stopped in for a meal. Food is always hot and portions are good.

Madeline really screwed my family over tonight for dinner. My whole meal was based on the onion rings and French onion soup appetizers that she decided to bring with the meal. Completely cold because she failed to bring them 10 minutes earlier when they were done. Asked if we wanted fries or chips with our sandwiches, then up charged for them $1.53 each sandwich?? No Comp of any kind. Sorry this was really upsetting. Not sure if we will return. I guess my question is, why not start are order over or at least offer to keep the cold items as a good will gesture? Either would have worked. This would make me feel like I was compensated in some way. Yes, the reason we went was for the Onion rings and Soup. Both my favorite anywhere.
