I thought it was very high priced for what you receive. Having dined out in other places recently, the al la carte method makes this experience the most expensive and did not provide the value for the money.

I thought the over-all experience was underwhelming. The menu items I was most interested in all had black pepper, so I couldn't order what I really wanted. The scallops were bland, the risotto undercooked. The bread and wine were good. Husband's steak was tough. Our tab came to $122 for a so-so meal. We won't hurry back.

Made reservations for our anniversary. We were really looking forward to an amazing meal. Our expectations were high as they are known for steaks. With high prices and all Ala cart we were significantly disappointed. Our steaks were all over cooked and extremely salty. The sides were mediocre for the price. Soup and salad were good. I ended up returning my steak for shrimp which were perfect. My husband suffered thru his as he had caramelized onions which helped. The service was slow considering it was 8pm on a Saturday but it was ok.

Very few options for people who are gluten free. Waitress had to check every time I asked a question, about gluten!

I went with my fiancé for a nice dinner to end our vacation and they immediately were a bit standoffish and rude towards us. The food was not worth the price- just pretty okay, the soda we ordered tasted horrible and they were snobbish throughout the whole meal. The whole thing was very embarrassing

They discriminated based on how we looked and serviced us less than the other customers, I had the pasta and the meat on it came out cold, tasted good but over priced, SNOBS.

Not impressed at all for $$$. Was decent but not at all what we expected. Husband can seer a steak better than what we got. Mashed potatoes were flavorless, Brussels sprouts weren’t thoroughly cooked. French Onion soup was very good, as was the carrot cake. Very expensive! Waiter was nice.

First and foremost Steaks are amazing!!!! The sides are just okay honestly, at most. Take note that everything is sold individually. We had a wide variety of sides, as I was curious knowing the reputation of the restaurant and there weren't any that were as good as I'd hope.

Outside appearance was intriguing and looked like a professional chop house restaurant. Once inside that impression ended. A table of 7 was reserved earlier, it was placed directly inside the front door with the back seat less than 8 ft from the green doors leading to the bathrooms and hotel lobby. Annoying with people going through those doors throughout the dinner. Lighting was bright as if no one turned the lights from closing the night before. Zero ambience, table was bare. Decor was minimal. Food- appetizers were good, the thick cut bacon won the winner there. Dinner was mostly steaks and seafood. The scallops were not edible as were some of the steaks. Way too much salt. My steak was not med rare, medium at best. The side dishes were somewhat questionable as the risotto was mushy as was Mac and cheese. Interesting take on the garnishes with a grilled toasted flat cheese on the Caesar salad topped with two anchovies. An orange slice topped the scallops that were delivered in a cream sauce. Scallops were over seasoned as in salty, not edible. It was a birthday party and the restaurant gave me a complimentary dinner and dessert. Nice touch. Our server was the highlight for the night. Clearly professional and experienced. A+. Overall I felt that this operation COULD BE SHOULD BE, an outstanding operation if someone actually knew what they were doing. Cobblestone Hotels all seem to have a bar. This one has a chophouse restaurant. They seemingly don't understand how to utilize what they have. This restaurant is cute as it COULD be with a cozy bar with two garage doors opening to a patio. Nice! Fix the lighting levels to create a dining atmosphere. Get a candle on the tables with rolled silverware or plates napkins, but something! Don't seat tables in front of restroom access doors unless it's the only table, which was not the case. And from a restaurant operator's perspective the tables bases should NOT be attached cross cross corner to corner. Fix it.

First time here. We were up from Milwaukee for a family birthday. Normally, we would go to a steakhouse in Eau Claire, but with a recent move to Chippewa Falls, we wanted to try something closer. The Chophouse had good reviews, so we gave it a try. (Spoiler — it was a delightful meal!)

The Wissota Chophouse is inside the Cobblestone Hotel. It has a separate entrance that leads right into the dining room. It's not a very big space, but the table arrangements are comfortable, with different-sized tables to accommodate larger groups.

We had a 7:00 reservation and were seated right away. Menus and waters came quickly, and our server checked in with us immediately. In addition to taking our drink order (Huckleberry Old Fashioned for me), our server did a nice job of explaining the menu items. He was also candid about the dishes he didn’t think were the “best” choices. I really appreciate it when a server feels connected to the customers and confident enough in their own palate to share honest opinions.

We ordered the calamari appetizer. Our server wasn’t crazy about that choice, but we went ahead anyway. It was “okay.” It’s sautéed rather than fried, so you have to set your expectations accordingly. It was hot, flavorful, and a good portion. However, like a lot of sautéed calamari, the rings were overly chewy :( They also provide a complimentary bread service (French?), which was fresh and warm, served with butter and a couple of different salts. That was unique and very good.

Our entrées included Ribeye, Chicken Ballotine, Carbonara, and Sea Bass (for me). These items are à la carte, so we also ordered sides of Brussels Sprouts and Mac & Cheese. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and everything was served at the right temperature. The Ribeye was excellent, and big enough to share. The Chicken Ballotine was tender and flavorful. My Sea Bass was amazing, though the portion was a bit small. Both sides were very good, especially the Brussels Sprouts, which had just the right amount of crisp.

We saved room for dessert and shared two — the Chocolate Cake and the Raspberry Tiramisu. Both were excellent.

Overall, the evening was a big success. I really appreciated our server’s help and attention throughout the night (thanks, Bruce). The food was wonderful (with one exception). The atmosphere was upscale but casual. It’s not a cheap dinner, but for what you get, I feel it’s a good value. Overall, a memorable evening — I’d gladly return.

One of the best 8 oz filet mignon I had on our SD/MN/WI vacation. Cooked medium to perfection. Caesar salad was large w/ crisp romaine lettuce, and Caesar dressing to my liking. Not too heavy on the anchovy taste. I picked the two whole anchovies out of the salad and hung them over the side of the bowl. The anchovy flavor was there but very mild. The side of asparagus for two served the four of us with some left over. My brother and sister-in-law who we treated to dinner had a bit of sticker shock at the prices. Items are ala carte. I surmised they were used to a traditional WI supper club which you could order an entree w/ or w/o salad bar. Or make your dinner all you can eat salad bar. Yes a better value in terms of price but The Chop House served a superior filet mignon. So tender. YUM,YUM. I was a bit surprised how prices in Chippewa Falls have caught up to the prices for dining at a nice restaurant in San Francisco. They have at The Chophouse. A value play the Chophouse is not. Go to the Wissota High Shores Supper Club instead if you want value for your dining dollar in Chippewa Falls WI. Nearby parking is free and plentiful. But I wasn't looking for value. I don't see my brother and sister-in-law that often so for me this was a special occasion. This time of year in WI is road construction season on highway 53. If you are not familiar with the region don't overdo it on the drinks.

We have never had a bad experience at Wissota Chop House. Their menu choices are amazing, the food is delicious, and the service is extraordinary. Whether you want drinks and an appetizer or a dinner, you can't go wrong with any of their options.
