My understanding is the previous owners are back in the saddle operating the facility. Good experience from having drinks at the bar and the meal. Good service all around. Will be back.

The appealing part: Food was great. Ribs fall off the bone tender, 3 piece cod done perfectly, and salad bar was perfect size.
Not so appealing part: Both waitresses didn't know what color Chardonnay wine was, served a red wine then told us she didn't even know how to spell it.
Chicken Noodle soup was luke warm at best.
Waitress didn't even tell us the salad bar was hiding in another room, nor did she tell us what soups they had.
Over charged by 30 dollars. I didn't say anything. Bill was just over $100.00, paid with two $100 dollar bills and waitress had the gaul to ask if I wanted my change. No receipt just handed me back my cash. All total the 30 dollar over charge and 40 dollars missing.
This is our 3rd time eating there since original owners took it back over.
The over charge of 30 dollars is because the waitresses do not know their own menu, the 40 dollars missing and no receipt is someone is stealing money, and not knowing the color of Chardonnay wine shows a lack of inexperience, and lack of training.
We planned on meeting 3 friends there tomorrow evening making it a party of 6, but will just drive up the road to Holcombe.
And recommend to anyone I meet never to eat in such a poorly run and dishonest establishment. I'd fire all the help.

We received a call canceling our reservation (due to a family matter), right when we pulled into the parking lot on Wednesday. We would have appreciated receiving that call prior to driving 30+ minutes to get there, followed by 30+ minutes back home.
I want to love this place and have given it multiple chances. I still love the drinks and prices. Each of the 4 times I have eaten there, there has never been any music in dining area so its always so quiet and each table is whispering. The food options are always limited but some of the items are still so good. I went the other night however and they had at least 6 of there very selective menu crossed off. Then when we got chicken dinner, they ran out. Food was medicode at best then and didn't even get a chance to do something else or take something off. Probably wont be back

Great backwoods bar
My memory of Foster's Riverview Inn took a bit of a hit with my most recent visit. Admittedly, it has been probably more than 20 years since I last visited there but I found it to be but a shadow of what it used to be. I had come here several times in the 80's and 90's and found the atmosphere very intimate and romantic to bring a date. What used to be beautiful windows along the outer edge of the building are now badly weathered with moisture between the glass panels and the only portion actually open was used for a very sad looking salad bar set up on a banquet table with wilted lettuce in a disposable aluminum cake pan. The only garnishes provided were some large chunks of carrots and some sliced onions. No peppers, black or green olives, or shredded cheese. There were croutons and bacon bits but overall, it just looked sad and defeated. The dressing I tried was tasty and the soup was quite good too. Presentation was poor at best.
The dinner menu seemed much more limited than what I remembered. I had the Friday night fish fry and while the batter was nice and light, the fish was just a bit overcooked and was a little chewy. Didn't taste bad at all but I've had much better elsewhere.
My wife had a steak that appeared to be cooked properly but it was served on a cold plate and by the time the server got the food to our table, the steak was cold too.
My stepson had steak too and while his was better than my wife's, it was just ok. The kids meals were perfectly serviceable and they each ate most of theirs.
Our server seemed pretty new and didnt check on us as often as we would normally see but she tried hard.
I had such high hopes and expectations for my return to Foster's but based on my experience, I will be hard pressed to return with so many other closer and better options. The old Foster's is a very distant memory anymore and the current restaurant was just disappointing. I wish them well and hope they can regroup sooner than later because it's a beautiful drive getting there.

One of the best wedding cuisines money can buy. Super flexible and good communication. We chose them for our wedding; no one went home hungry and everyone had smiles on their faces. I recommend the grilled chicken, very juicy and flavorful. Will definitely recommend to friends and family that need a caterer in the Chippewa area!! 10/10!
Stayed at the motel down the street and ordered a pizza on our last night there. Wish we had ordered earlier in the week because we would have ordered over and over! Amazing pizza. Stopped in and had a drink while we waited and great atmosphere, friendly bartender.

Went for the Mother's Day Buffet and it was good. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy were really good. Wasn't a big fan of the chicken or soup. It was all fine, but nothing I'd been excited to go back and try again. Haven't ordered off their normal menu, so if I'm up that way I'd like to stop in and give that a shot. Really good Wisconsin Old Fashioned. Nice seating area and very friendly staff.
Parking: Plenty of parking available.
Kid-friendliness: They have a nice little area with some play items for the smaller kids.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to the entrance.
