Love visiting Ponchos every time we are in Cornucopia! Classic Wisconsin feel to a bar/restaurant- the staff is always very friendly and service is always perfect - food is excellent- good people watching and good music !

We were on a long weekend on the south shore of Lake Superior and we stopped into Ponchos Tavern for lunch. The BLT with fries and the bacon grilled cheese with onion rings were both delicious and as good as if I made them at home myself. Service was friendly, and staff told us that new ownership had taken over in the middle of the summer and had already made many upgrades with many more coming. This is a great place. Highly recommended.

Had the Saturday pulled pork sandwich special. 10/10 I'm a sauce girl and I forgot to ask for a side but I went for the first bite and the flavor did not disappoint! Didn't need the sauce. It was topped with a slight creamy coleslaw and fries.

We saw posts about new ownership and new menu and were excited to try…we went last night (Friday) ready to try the fish fry. I know it’s been hard locally to find help but there was one girl who was both bartender and waitress. Bar seats were full. We were over 20 mins in and still didn’t have a drink or order placed. Heard a couple people sitting at the bar that were waiting to order drinks. No sign of her making it over to us in the near future so we left. There was a group of guys standing at the bar drinking and at one point she asked one of them where she could find a sweatshirt size that a customer wanted to buy. He answered but didn’t offer to help out. Not certain if he was an owner or someone who worked there who was off shift but it was pretty sad to see that he didn’t jump in and help her out .

Since the new owner took over, the place has been updated & we heard about some exciting plans going forward.
Also, they have started some great specials and gave expanded their menu to include breakfast.

12 of us stopped for lunch yesterday. Loaded Bloody Mary was GREAT! They serve locally caught Whitefish that was wonderful! We also had wraps and chicken wings, equally great!! Staff was friendly, we would recommend!!

It was awesome!! This is one of the only places I will eat fish because I KNOW it's fresh. The location is beautiful! You can walk down to the lake after you eat and people from all over to meet!
