I visited my friend's cabin in Forest County to experience the fall foliage in a small town. We decided to stop at Smokin' J's for some pulled pork dinners. I was excited to try this establishment due to the rave reviews. I was highly disappointed. The pulled pork was not what I expected or authentic. I could barely stomach it. I didn't want to be rude and request a refund. My friend and I paid, left, and picked up the local Subway. If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would. It makes me wonder who wrote these reviews. Friends and family, maybe? I will never go there again!

My sister and I had dinner on Friday night. The fried fish and potato pancakes were outstanding, and the brisket nachos were amazing! The staff went out of their way to make an incredible Long Island Iced Tea for my sister as well. Can't wait to eat here again!

we finally wandered in for the first time since they've opened. NOT DISAPPOINTED. It took a bit to get our food, but i did notice a lot of to-go orders going out the door. the waitress was friendly & was sure to check on us. next time we will order an appetizer. once our food came, we were in AWE. so good! great service, good drinks, nice little dining room. all around a good experience.

This was an impromptu stop on a road trip, and absolutely the best meal I’ve had in ages. We had the pulled pork plate, and the sides were wonderfully flavored and supported the meal perfectly! The bloody Mary w/ chaser was the perfect start!
