Personable owner (Mick]. Home made food tasty with sizable portions. Added touches of cloth tablecloth & napkins. A true delightful!

We have been eating here when we visit the area since it opened about 3 years ago. This is not typical small town greasy bar burgers and pizza. It’s legitimately as good as any high end bistro you will find anywhere. Their beer selection isn’t huge but the 8 or so beers on tap are all craft local brews that can be sampled in flights. All menu items we have tried have all been excellent and portion sizes are great. You will not be disappointed by anything they have on the menu. Being a small town, a lot of the restaurants aren’t open year round 7 days a week so check to see if they are open before you go.

Mom and Pop cheese/wine/beer/pub/sandwich shop all in one. We had a charcuterie board and some brochette. All of it was delicious. Could have sat around for hours, very homey

Great food and really friendly staff

Great food and very reasonable prices. The chicken minestrone soup is a great example of the quality; even the zucchini in the soup retained a slight crunch. $4/cup

Herbal tea $1.50

Amazing custom salads I would expect in fancy manhattan cafe but Crivitz prices.

11 different micro brews on tap.

Such a cute little gem in Crivitz! Finally a place that isn't just fried bar food. We had the bruschetta and it was wonderful!

The absolute 100% best lunch I have ever had. Food was fresh with wonderful flavors. Son had an Italian meats sandwich which the meats were about 2 inches thick. I had oriental wrap the flavors were so fantastic. We had 3 bruchetta which were all awesome. I will drive to Crivitz again and again just for lunch at this shop.

A must try!!!
What a wonderful location. Very fun and comfortable environment. Great, helpful customer service. Excellent menu selections, with many options. The meals are prepared to order, and the customers can customize to their preferences.
The cuisine is inventive and tasty. Excellent assortment of craft beers that are charged by the ounce.
It is an excellent destination that I highly recommend.

I stopped in for lunch today and this was such a nice little restaurant, the wooden tables with the checkerboard burnt into them was a super cool added touch to the theme of the restaurant. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the chicken pot pie soup, goat cheese and jam bruschetta and Italian sausage and stone ground mustard bruschetta. All the food was excellent and made fresh. I definitely will be back again, thank you again for the great service!

EASILY the best place in town. Fresh and made to order, nothing deep fried, and their self serve tap bar is the ONLY one I have seen north of green bay. Super clean, lovely staff, and the owner is very sweet.
I had the crown sandwich, cabbage soup, a cheese quesadilla and the checkerboard salad. ABSOLUTELY worth the price you pay.
I will definitely return with my foodie friends and fiancee.

Parking: Small lot, would be a challenge if it got busy.

My wife and I love to frequent the Checkerboard. Nice friendly owners, good oil-free food and an excellent selection of serve-your-own-beer.
