This place has gone really downhill since the last time I visited a few years ago. Called and ordered takeout. For 2 people good was almost $50 and the meal didn't even come with a side of rice and beans. I ordered that on the side. I only received a giant bowl of rice, no beans. My tamales were rock hard like that had sat under a heat lamp way too long or been microwaved. Overall the quality of the food was mediocre and I was disappointed.

This place has average to above average food, but I don't think I would go back for several reasons. We had a long wait for everything from being seated to getting the check. The atmosphere was a little chaotic ... I found myself worrying about the staff as they seemed stressed and understaffed. The menus were visibly dirty with food on them and cleanliness in general seemed to be lacking. I get that we went there on a weekend so it may have been busier than usual, so that may account for it, but I would recommend it.
I work with the Abbyland pork plant in Curtiss and provide shipping for their products. I wanted to treat the shipping team with a few apps and tacos to munch on. Mariah went out of her way to make sure they received a personalised message with the delivery!! Awesome service and I hope to one day visit my self.

While passing through Abbotsford, we noticed a Mexican restaurant and decided to check it out. Our waitress seated us, took our orders, and brought drinks right away. I got the delicious grilled chicken tacos. My wife had the yummy taco salad. Salsa and guacamole were outstanding. Good sized portions. The prices were very reasonable.

It was very busy the night that we went. They were short staffed but they managed. Still good service. Our food came out wrong due to a mix up on another table but it was corrected and in a quick manner with a desert. Good food with fair prices.

I just had a wedding at El Norteño. I thought I was just renting a ballroom and ordering food for the big day. Absolutely not. The manager Mariah Stanley paid close attention from day 1, she took notes, she put in the effort to understand what it was that my husband and I wanted. She was flexible and made changes throughout the process all the way up to days before the wedding without making us feel like a burden. Mariah really went above and beyond to make our day special. Best decision with the wedding other than the obvious saying "I Do" was contracting El Norteño to host our big day. It was perfect! Thank you Mariah and El Norteño staff!
