J. Henry & Sons Bourbon Tasting Room & Farm

Stopped by the tasting room this summer on the way to MN. Basically to let the dogs out of the car. After a flight of pours my wife and I knew this was a great place to stop and will make this a regular event. Whiskey tastes like no other brand. It has become my “go to” when I get home. Love the red corn dominated mash bill. Great people, great bourbon. Patton Road 5 yr is complex and fantastic. See you again soon!

We were treated so warmly, even though a private event was happening and tasting room waa closed. Such a great experience. Delicious drinks and grat value on the flights.

If you like Bourbon try this. I have been on the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky. This Bourbon is really good. I did the Tour and Tasting it was nice place. Staff was awesome!

It's a beautiful place. The people there are very friendly and knowledgeable. If you want to know how bourbon is made this is a fun place to go. You can also buy what they make there. It's a must experience if you love bourbon.

Sometimes the best stops are the ones you don’t plan—and J. Henry & Sons Distillery proved exactly that.

My wife and I were heading up to Alma, Wisconsin for a camping trip when she looked up how close J. Henry was. Only about 30 minutes out of the way, so we figured, why not? That quick detour turned into one of the highlights of our trip.

The moment we pulled in, we were struck by how scenic and welcoming the property felt. It’s tucked into the Wisconsin countryside with beautiful views that make you want to slow down and stay awhile. We didn’t schedule a full tour, but just walking the grounds and relaxing in the tasting room made for a fantastic visit—and we’re already planning to come back for the full experience.

The staff was top-notch—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to share the story behind their bourbons. They made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. I opted for a flight of six different bourbons and ryes, and every pour had something special going on. The barrel strength rye? Incredible. Easily one of my favorites I’ve ever tried—smooth, bold, and full of depth.

My wife was going to drive so I could drink, so she got a mocktail that she really enjoyed, which was a nice touch that made her feel just as much a part of the experience. As we were wrapping up, more people started coming in—it’s clear this place is getting the recognition it deserves.

J. Henry isn’t just another distillery—it’s a destination in its own right. Great people, great vibes, and even better bourbon. We’ll definitely be back.

Such a cute gem! In an older farmhouse small tap room. Small but a decent amount of seating and outside seating on the porch. Dog friendly also which is a plus! The staff was so friendly and welcoming it really made our experience that much better! Drinks were fabulous and I loved how you could get them smoked upon request! Will be back again soon! Did not take the tour but sounded fun and you could even drink on the tour if you bought a cocktail beforehand. Definitely recommend for a fun distillery experience:)

Spectacular, beautiful grounds and facilities. Love the variety of Old Fashions.

Drove today from Janesville to get mine. Very pleasant staff. Took my two Frenchies along for the ride and they recommended I let let them run on the grounds for a bit, they had the time of their lives! Love the pet cleanup station available.

My favorite bourbon and it’s made by the best people right here in Dane County! So glad to see most restaurants and bars around here carrying it.

Waited on Liz & Joe several times years ago and always remember how kind, funny, and genuine they were. No shock their bourbon is a knock-out!

Now I just have to plan another trip to the tasting room - it’s been several years!
