This is a family owned thing and they have three of them in the stare. The main one is in Osseo. This is a nice clean bright family restaurant specializing in Norwegian dishes. They also have burgers and sandwiches and everything is pretty darn good. They are known for their pie and baking. Recent I’ve had been there and had biscuit and gravy for breakfast and it was very good with a real homemade biscuit dense but crumbly . It was good. I’ve also had the rhubarb crumble pie, which I loved. And lso the Snivkers pie, which was a request from my ex wife , and I did like that but she swears by it, whatever! The pies and bakery are uniformly good. The service is warm and friendly. I recommend. Only open until like 2 or 3. So be aware. And they also have some cute retail on the theme. Cute stuff.

I was so excited to finally try some pie from here. I ordered the corn chowder. It was thick, bland, seemed more like a dip for tortilla chips. The chicken and biscuit was really salty with no other seasoning. Obviously frozen carrots, peas, and cubed chicken that may have come from a can. Heinz chicken gravy in a can is better than theirs. My friend had the corned beef and hash with eggs over easy. Eggs were over hard and he said the corned beef tasted really processed. Finally I get the Dutch apple pie and ice cream. I’d give it a 4/10. Ken’s meat market does it better. I had planned on getting more bakery items to take home but after spending $40 on the mediocre food I’d sampled I passed. I won’t be back.

This is a MUST STOP when you're visiting the DeForest Public Library from afar. I had the most delicious Potato Pancakes (think hash browns... But it a giant flat shape). My picky eater son ate his entire chocolate chip pancake! My daughter devoured the scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast.
But the PIES! My goodness, they were delicious. My kids clocked which pies they wanted right as we walked in. We had the rubharb crumble, chocolate mousse, and raspberry sour cream.
The server was so patient and understanding with my kids. It was a yummy, low stress brunch.

Fun little diner with a Nordic feel. The food was well prepared & plentiful. We must have been there on a busy day, as service was slow. But we weren't in a hurry. Good place. We'll come back again.

We had a blast at Norske Nook today. The service was great (our waitress took great care of us and she was very kind and polite). And the food... Yummy yummy! We bought a traditional apple pie for new year's eve too, I am sure we will enjoy that!!

This place is a never failed good time! The lunch food is really great. Where they shine though is in the bakery. Some of the best pies we have ever had. The cherry crumble is amazing and the butterfinger cookie is the best cookie I’ve ever eaten! Love this place so much!!

Food came out cold, Hot beef, gravy and mashed potatoes. Told the waitress and she took it to the back and brought back the same meal said she microwaved it. So now I have a microwaved beef sandwich on chewy bread and it’s still cold. Waitress asked if it was better, I told her it was still cold. Her reply was microwaves aren’t predictable. Not a good experience at all.
