We came here to celebrate a college graduation and had a mix of opinions among our party. We had issues with multiple dishes.

2 of our party members ordered the carbonara and found it to be very watery; neither of them were interested in finishing their meals. The Walleye was unimpressive; we expected local fish to be cooked/seasoned properly and it was lacking flavor.

The saffron seafood linguini was a total scam. The shrimp was ridiculously overcooked and the best way I can describe the mussels was that they did not taste anywhere near fresh, the scallops were decent. One of our party members will eat anything and is not very picky so he offered to take the shrimp and mussels because they were inedible in my opinion.

Obviously, I chose not to send the meal back or I wouldn’t have had another member of our party finish the seafood, but I did choose to let management know because (as someone who has worked in customer service) i found the quality of the dish to be unacceptable (especially for something they charge $40 for) and wanted them to be aware so they could address it for the future.

They were very combative and dismissive. I was expecting a response of “I’m so sorry I will let the Chef/Manager know so we can fix that for next time”, instead they came back and said “Well, I don’t know what you want, we can’t comp anything on this”. Not once did we indicate that we were looking for compensation. I was very frustrated to receive that kind of attitude from the staff at what I expected to be a well run establishment.

We also spent over 3 hours there. We were expecting a european style dinner going into it, but we also expected properly cooked food. On top of that we asked if there would be a wait time for the desserts and were told no there would not be a wait time because none of them need to be baked. 25 minutes after ordering we were informed they do in fact need to be baked and we were stuck there for another 45 minutes as a result!

And at the end of our dinner after expressing discontent multiple times and receiving no effort from the management to make it right, the staff had the audacity to say to us “We are so glad you enjoyed your meal, please leave a positive review for $5 off on your return visit”. Suffice it to say we will not be returning…

Don't go here... Unless you've got a lot of time and good company!

Cin cin is a wonderful dining that takes you back 10-20 years. In the age of rushing and restaurants focused on rapid table turnover, Cin Cin is a great place to slow down, have great conversations, great service, and absolutely amazing food. But dinner will take 2-3 hours... so be prepared.

The food at Cin Cin is hand made by the head chef for every order and it shows. We've been 4 or 5 times now, and we're sure to stop by every year we vacation in the north. It's some of the best food we've ever had, bar none. The saffron seafood fettuccini is amazing.

If you don't have at least a couple hours, or you're dining alone, I would not recommend. Otherwise, definitely the place to go in Eagle River.

The marinara is legit. I had the scallops with polenta and they were also fantistic.

We have eaten here three times now and each meal has been excellent. The staff was attentive and graciously accommodated our special meal requests. I am vegan and they prepared a lovely orecchiette pasta with fresh vegetables. My husband enjoyed the lasagna. The wine and cocktail list is substantial and complements the delicious Italian cuisine.

If you're looking for a little European escape in the Northwoods, look no further. Bortolotti's serves delectable and authentic Italian fare the likes I've never seen so far from Rome. This is not a place you want to experience in a hurry, so give yourself the time to savor the exquisite atmosphere, wine, appetizers and mains. We stumbled upon this hidden gem on a Tuesday night when they had live jazz going which further elevated the experience. 10/10 will go again.

Absolutely blown away by our experience at Bortolotti’s Cin Cin in Eagle River. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just right — the music, the warm lighting, and the cozy, tasteful decor set the perfect scene for a great meal.

The wait staff was phenomenal — super attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a great time. That kind of service makes all the difference.

Now the food? Unreal. We started with the dinner salad and soup, and both were fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the meal. Then came the main dishes — and wow. The carbonara was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned — easily the best I’ve ever had. And the Chicken Siciliano was packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and plated beautifully. Every bite was a reminder that this is real Italian cooking.

Honestly, Bortolotti’s Cin Cin is the only Italian restaurant worth going to in Eagle River. If you’re in the area and craving Italian, don’t even think twice. This place is a gem.
