My daughter had her wedding at Chef Rene's at Eagle River and it was FANTASTIC! The food was beyond amazing. Pistachio encrusted chicken in a raspberry sauce, homemade scalloped potatoes, smoked brisket and green beans with walnuts. It was absolutely delicious. Sonja the event coordinator kept to the dinner timeline, worked so hard the day of the wedding, and answered all of my questions about the wedding. The servers and bartenders were also so great. If you are looking for a place to hold a wedding/reception I highly recommend Chef Rene's at Eagle River. Having an outside wedding over looking the water, and the Eagle River Inn & Resort attached to the restaurant was perfect. 10/10 recommend Chef Rene's at Eagle River
This happened on junteenth. I had to beg my fiance to come to this restaurant with me. She's black and very shy about going out here. I assured her this was a nice restaurant with nice people. I've had very nice meals here. Our waitress was very short with us and treated us differently than her other customers. She rushed us through and even took our plates without asking if we were done. The food wasn't good and by far the worst meal I've had there. My fiancé's pasta was stuck together in one big clump and there was something off about the chicken. I ended up taking her to subway afterwards. I would sure like to know who was cooking. All the entrees coming out for the other tables looked good. She's worried about being poisoned and so am I. Are yall a bunch of racist or what? This was the first time in my life I didn't tip. Never coming back. 90$ for a meal that was awful and a passive aggressive waitress.
Four dinners, three were very good. My beef was gristly and tough, not tenderloin. Also it was supposed to be linguini but it was more an egg noodle instead. Bit disappointed.
Beautiful location with good food.
Had a group of 9 for an 18th Birthday dinner. Staff was accommodating and even sang to him. Everyone’s food was excellent. First time eating here and we will be back!!
Great food, super excellent service! This place is beautiful and everyone is so nice! Our server Melissa was AWESOME!!
The food was very good. I have no doubt this is a fine place to go just for dinner, however, I had a terrible experience for my wedding rehearsal dinner. My mom called them to reserve the banquet room about 6 weeks ahead of time. About a week before the event, they called my mom to change the reservation time because “they were getting a lot of reservations.” We obliged and got there as quickly as we could after the wedding rehearsal. We only had one waitress for a party of 24. Instead of taking our drink orders, we were told to go to the bar if we wanted anything other than water. There was no music playing overhead which made it a bit awkward. We were asked to narrow our dinner choices down to 3 choices ahead of time, which we did, but instead of individually asking each person what they wanted, the waitress had us raise our hands for steak, lamb, or fish. One of the families was running late, and the waitress got in their face the second they sat down demanding they decide what they wanted to eat immediately because apparently the chef was pressuring her for our orders. She was very visibly frazzled and sighed very loudly whenever we asked for something mildly inconvenient. Lastly, our orders were not all correct. There were too many orders of fish and not enough of steak that came out. Overall, I am extremely embarrassed that this was the opener to my wedding weekend. This was the most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
I have always been reluctant to go somewhere that is pricey, because I have always been left disappointed and wishing I had just gone somewhere more simple and inexpensive.
That was far from the case here.
I came in here with my in-laws for mother's day, and between all of us, I was privileged to sample the duck, the beef tips, the korean bbq ribs, and the shrimp and scallop Alfredo.
Everything was amazing.
Went for dinner for the second time. Had an amazing experience the 1st time. Second time my chicken was completely raw in the center. When I told them that after I was charged for it they told me too bad I should have had my server re-make it for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s usually great food. But the arrogance of the hostess and managerial staff after they clearly messed up was unfathomable. My husband and I enjoy fine dining, and rarely, if ever, leave a bad review. But the way this situation was handled was completely unprofessional and showed a clear lack of respect for good paying customers. It’s sad, they have a great thing going and everyone makes mistakes, but if you make a mistake own it. The management there thinks they are perfect and that’s no way to run a business.
Great place for a little upscale dinner. I thought the dishes were pretty creative and unique, and the flavor of what I ended up ordering, the poached salmon, was awesome. My fiancé had the scallops, and she liked it as well. The complimentary bread was amazing, and we thought the appetizers were great too! We recommend Chef Rene's and we will go there again.

Great good and service. Melissa was very attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere is pure Northwoods.
Cioppino was incredible, and the small filet enjoyed by my wife was as good as it gets.Service was also outstanding from Sonja.
