Tried Chef Rene's for the 1st time and would definitely go back. Started with a beer while our table was being prepared. Good beer selection at a very reasonable price. Salad was very good, great blue cheese dressing. Went with the Ribeye and it was fantastic. Only thing I didn't love was the wild rice for my side. Said it came with ham, which sounded odd but intriging, but thought I'd give it a try. Wasn't my thing, but that's on me for trying it. Wasn't the best choice to pair with a ribeye. Wife had fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and scallops, which was fantastic, as well. Server was very friendly and guided us in the right direction, when we had questions. Will definitely be back.

Called last minute for an 8 PM reservation—grateful to get in. Arrived early and told to wait at the bar despite open tables. Bartender was curt and disengaged; a little friendliness would’ve gone a long way. Once seated, we waited 25 + minutes before anyone came by—had to flag a server. Food was good (the green beans with shallots and walnuts were excellent), but portions were small for the price. The waitress who finally helped us was kind, but overall service was poor to adequate. Great flavors, weak hospitality

This review is largely based on our experience in the restaurant. If it was based on the bar, it wouldn't be nearly as positive. Our waitress was great. Our food came quickly and was quite tasty. The dining room has a warm vibe but is very loud. I guess I understand what people like about this place but I can't say I'll go back. Our first impression started in the bar and had we not had dinner reservations, that's probably where it would have ended.

So impressed with this restaurant! Employees were all friendly and welcoming, our Server, Morgan, was attentive and very accommodating. We had a chance to meet Chef Rene, he treated us like we were longtime friends! Chef's Father is a Sweetheart! Had us laughing!
We dined on Beef Stroganoff, Scallops Pernod, and Shrimp Alfredo. All 3 dishes were Fantastic.
The Fontinella and Spinach soup (special) was out of this world!
Thank you Chef Rene and your Staff! We will come back on our next trip Up North!

Would love to have eaten here but was treated rather rudely because we did not have a reservation even though there were many open tables, and she refused to accommodate us at all. I will likely never return because of that.

the fillets were great the 24 ounce tbonewas great my duck you could have not very good server was attentive and helpful
It rare that we disagree so strongly about a place. The front door was littered with cigarette butts, a bucket and broom and a bad smell. We went early to get a drink at the bar and were greeted by a grumpy bartender who was counting his drawer. We felt like we were interrupting him when he turned the sound up on the sports talk show. The place smelled musty and looked dirty. We could see they were still setting up for dinner. This was not what we were expecting for fine dining but didn’t decide to leave until my husband came back from the bathroom which was filthy.

We recently went to Chef Renee’s for a special anniversary dinner and were disappointed. None of us had dined with them before, but were so excited to try the restaurant. They could benefit from a lesson in customer service!! From making the reservation to paying the bill the hostess was VERY rude! We will not be returning and would suggest you give other restaurants your business. For the price, the food was very average. We did have a delicious old fashioned to start our meal, which sadly was the best part of our experience at Chef Renee’s. In a word…disappointing😒

I have to give it up for Chef Renee's. The Server said one of the specials was Duck Confit. I am in, duck one of my favorites. Served with a blueberry chutney, The duck cooked absolutely perfectly.Lettuce/kale greens and wild rice. This plate was the best thing I've ever tasted. By the way my wife's dish of fresh made garden pasta with large scallops was top notch as well. Great job Chef and staff! Chefs father makes and hands out finger puppets. Awesome
