What a terrible experience!

We unfortunately went to the Lake House Inn on a day when they also booked a party of 20. We had no server- instead the hostess took our order and rarely checked on us. We had to go to go up to the hostess stand to ask for drink refills, ketchup , etc.

We were, however, told that we would not be getting service and that our food would take longer because the large party would take priority. We also watched the employees stand at the bar and eat food that had come out of the kitchen while we waited. They offered to put our items in to go boxes before it even arrived. 2 hours later our fish arrived like greasy jerky. I guess that’s why they wanted to put our food in to go containers. When she finally came over a half hour later to ask how everything was, I said it was not good, and she immediately asked if it was the fish? So she knew she served bad fish to us.

This whole experience was terrible and we will not be going back. There are a lot of other restaurants in that area. Next time we will pick one of them.

This was the best meal I've ever had at a supper club. Just classic dishes executed perfectly. Great service, great prices too. We'll be back.

We have been patrons of Lake House Inn for almost thirty years so we were very happy for them to reopen. The atmosphere is little changed from the past but why fix something that is not broke. Service was good but a little uneven with drink orders very slow and table service needs some improvement but otherwise it was good.

Met a friend there after work, we had the duck win ton and cheese curds, both were excellent. My husband I are going to be going for dinner soon.

This is a seasoned historical establishment that was recommended to us. There is a large bar as you enter. Once seated our service was great. But the food stole the show. It was well prepared and absolutely delicious. There is a little boutique in the back with a fun tasting room to sample spirit after dinner.
My only comment is that there was no one to greet or direct us when we arrived for dinner. We wandered around several minutes trying to figure out where the dining was until a new employee found someone to help.

Management was rude when trying to make a reservation, therefore we didn’t go for dinner.

My understanding is there is a new manager, overseeing the dining and bar. What a difference from a year ago. Friday night fish fry I had the baked cod which was done perfectly and well seasoned… Meaning more than just paprika… And the clam chowder was among the best I’ve ever tasted. Flavorful with vegetables that were cooked Just enough to still have a little crunch. Lots of clams in every bite; creamy but not starchy. Bartender makes a good drink, without any prompting by the customer ☺️

We were excited to try Lake House Inn, the historic building has such a unique vibe, and I love a good supper club and fish fry. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated right away, and our server came over promptly to take our drink order; it was immediately clear she was new and unfamiliar with both her tablet and the bar menu. She confirmed it was her first night serving on her own, we told her no worries and to take her time, and she got the drink and appetizer order put in. The appetizer, duck wontons, came out piping hot and were extremely good. However, our drinks had not arrived yet. A different server came to the table, apologized for the delay and was very confused when he noticed we already had food on our table, so there was some sort of communication gap between the staff on whose table was whose (which was weird, because the dining room was not busy). He was able to track down our drinks, which had apparently been ready and sitting on the bar waiting for a while. He came back to take our meal order, and then we waited. And waited. No one came back so we could order another round of drinks while we waited. The food eventually arrived: the fried fish and house-made tartar sauce were both fantastic. The prime rib and mashed potatoes were both cold, and we quickly realized that our soup, cole slaw, and relish tray were all missing. By the time we flagged down a server, we were halfway done with our entrees, so we cancelled the relish tray and asked for the soup to go, then they informed us they were actually out of clam chowder, but they would substitute the tomato soup, which came out in a dish instead of a to go container. We tried it and neither of us liked it enough to want a second bite. They did pack up the relish tray to go (Ritz crackers, sliced cheese, carrot and celery sticks, and the weirdest combination of baby corn and green olives, both swimming in a shocking amount of dried dill). The server knew our meal hadn't gone smoothly, so he offered a free dessert, and brought us a slice of cheesecake, which we had a hard time enjoying because it was still frozen in the middle. This place has SO much potential, but for a $100+ meal, we left pretty disappointed and will probably not come back.
