We have dined at Della Porta on several previous occasions and found the food to be quite good. Tonight however we were very disappointed . The service was ok - it was the food that was very disappointing. We ordered a “salad” which consisted only of arugula- with balsamic vinegarette and a slice of lemon - there were no tomatoes, onion, parmesan to enhance the appearance and taste of this salad. The portions ( for an Italian restaurant were small). The ziti dish which was described by our waiter as being quite spicy had very little sauce on it, 2 small pieces of sausage and the noodles and were hard - like the entire dish had been warmed up and appeared burned. The other entrees was a bolognese with short rib which was very sparse. Sadly we will not dine here again.....

Pizza was excellent - food great. Dessert -so so. Gelato I think was in freezer too long and chocolate tasted like hersey syrup . Service wonderful .

Absolutely fantastic place to eat. The inside is modern. The staff is incredibly friendly. Everything we ate here was delicious. The one star of the meal was the arancini. This was the best arancini my wife or I have had anywhere.
The one other thing we really appreciated was the cook on the pizza. Many places that cook neopolitan pizza leave the center a soft soupy mess. They intentionally cook the pizza slightly longer so the pizza dough firms up a little and I personally really appreciated this. Limoncello mule and Aperol spritz were the winners for us drink wise.
This was a random stop for us on our first night in Door County and it ended up being our new favorite place in Door County and the highlight of our trip. Will definitely be back.
Vegetarian options: Multiple pasta and pizza options that are vegetarian friendly. Vegetable lasagna and pistachio pesto pasta dish.
Dietary restrictions: Multiple vegetarian options. Have a gluten free options as well.

We've eaten at Della Porta many times. The service is prpfessional and knowledgeable, but always friendly and welcoming. It's a warm ambiance that never disappoints. The food is always fresh, delicious, and modern. Great wine list too. And if you have dietary restrictions, it's honestly the best gluten free and vegan food my husband has had anywhere - even among great Chicago Italian restaurants. We've loved the fried calamari (amazingly gf), pizza (my fave is the pesto burata arugula w prosciutto; my husband had the Margherita (gf) and asked to add prosciutto), many of the pastas, and fresh fish. A bonus is the new patio, La Piazza, in their outdoor courtyard where we spent one summer afternoon enjoying wine and pizza. I can't recommend Della Porta and their brunch menu, Blue Bear (really, cacio e pepe eggs! And unbelievable gf beingets) enough!!

1000% Recommend especially GF, or V. I was up in Door County in the fall. It was hard to find a good place to eat with my dietary restrictions. My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try. LOTS of GF options, staff very considerate of the dietary restrictions. I never felt so comfortable eating in a place. The food also was phenomenal!! Please give them a try! You will not regret it! I am considering coming back a second time. They are also open year-round!

Gluten free options are always hard to find, but here nearly everything can accommodate Celiac disease havers. Everything is scratch made with FANTASTIC ingredients. We will surely be coming back!

We stopped by the outdoor wine bar and it was such a gem! Excellent wine menu, excellent service (Chris did a great job explaining the wine choices and making sure we had everything we needed). Highly recommend.

The ambience here sets the mood, the fine wine and craft cocktails gets the appetite ready for an outstanding selection of fine Italian food. I never draft reviews unless the experience warrants, and this deserves EVERY accolade it has received. I’m a total foodie and travel a lot and I can confidently say this is the best gluten free pizza I have ever had!!! If you are GF and looking for a great spot to eat with an amazing staff- this is the place. They also have a delicious breakfast/brunch menu through their other restaurant Blue Bear. I ordered two entrees in one sitting… twice. Just saying- put this on your list!!!! You won’t regret it.

We have found the best kept secret in Door County, shhhh don't tell anyone! It is not only the best most authentic Italian food but in the morning the have fantastic breakfast items. Tell everyone you know to come to Ellison Bay for the best food in Door County.

This was a great experience. The service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The food was exceptional. We had the Bolognese and Paccheri. The sauces were flavorful and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The Italian Old Fashioned was done well. Tiramisu was perfect. I highly recommend.
