On a recent stay in Ellison Bay my wife, brother-in-law, his wife, and myself stopped in the Mink River Basin for dinner. My initial impression was this is a popular spot with locals, and that notion was confirmed by our waitress. The menu is sports bar fare, but broad enough to satisfy most tastes. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, ensuring our drinks were refreshed and the food was to our liking. I had the chicken salad, which was generous in portion. The others had the cheeseburger, Door County whitefish sandwich, and corned beef Reuben sandwich, each served with fries. Everyone was satisfied with their order, commenting on the good flavor of the food. My wife’s fries were among the best I’ve ever sampled. If you’re looking for a friendly spot with good food in northern Door County, you won’t be disappointed with Mink River Basin.

We frequent The Mink often but they changed their menu and now you can’t get tatter tots as a side. You have to order them as a $10 appetizer. That would have made my lunch $30 with a beverage before tax and tip. Disappointing that they have made this change. We will probably be there less often now.

Been here multiple times over the years. Consistently good food. Straight forward menu, but better then a typical bar menu. Good beer list. The arcade is great when with the family or just with friends. Get there early if a game day. Some slots in the back.

Make sure you know before you order your gonna like what you get or Kristy the manager just might tell you “it’s just your taste buds” .. usually I like everything here, I personally didn’t like the beef barley soup it came cold and had a off flavor to me and she sure did tell me it’s just your taste buds and wouldn’t exchange it for the other soup option, she also said you will be charged for it even tho I took one bite to taste it and was very rude while I was very polite through out. Mind you big deal right ? We spent over $200… it was just a cup of soup it could have been exchanged or refunded. The chicken and Mac and cheese was very good and everything else my family ordered was good. SHE SHOULD WORK AT DICKS LAST RESORT!!! They’d love her attitude (-:
