Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. - Fitchburg

Sat 4 larger (ok, we are all over weight) adults at a curved booth that would comfortably seat 3 small humans. After they brought our food they offered to move us to a larger table, but we were half done by then.

I got the green chili pork nachos, and silly me thought there would be pork in the dish. I found only 3 pieces less than an inch square and flat that I could identify as pork. The chips were amazing, as was the pico, but if you are doing to put pork in the name of the dish, there should be pork IN the dish.

My wife had the Ruben, and was not impressed either. The one at Cracker Barrel is better, and she only ate half of the one at Dane.

Lastly, I take away a star for service every time my drink runs out. It was one of those nights where it felt like our server wanted to take care of everyone else but us. They did not get a very good tip, but I doubt that bothered them.

Great Dane has become a staple of Madison and since 1994 has expanded to a few other cities. It is a true brewpub and the Fitchburg location has a full bar and several of there own beers on tap; 10 staples and 6 that rotate. They cover scotch ale, APA, hazy IPA, sour, pils, lager, Czech pils, porters, stouts Wheat, a barrel aged stock ale, and more. They have a menu that works for everyone including brunch, lunch, and dinner. The food is always very good. This location's bar area feels like and old world pub. Upstairs has shuffleboard, pool tables, and a second bar. They also have a large dining area and patio. It is definitely worth a stop.

Great place for a celebration dinner

Recommended dishes: Old Glory Cheese Curds, Nashville Hot Chicken, Chipotle Turkey Sandwich, Steak Frites, Boneless Wings

They have a very nice selection of craft beer and they have a great food menu with something for everyone. The service was excellent and very helpful definitely a great spot to visit if you're in the Madison area.

Good food and great beer offerings. Nice bar food menu. Miss their buffets. Nice Thanksgiving menu, but not sure if it's still offered.

Excellent service and food

Ordered the protein bowl with quinoa, beets, broccoli, sweet potato and tofu and added salmon. This was perfect after a long day of traveling when I just wanted something nourishing.

The food was horrendous and overpriced. We ordered the mac & cheese with the chicken breast there was zero cheese on this mac & cheese more breadcrumbs and cheese it was disgusting. I can’t believe they passed that dish as edible and worth customers time and money. This place has gone downhill looks like they’re trying to raise their prices and give cheaper food and that’s just plain pathetic. This is the last time I eat it’s a great Dane, the last time. If you value your money I would Not

Went for Friday night dinner with our kids and the experience was amazing as usual. We were sat right away and the food was hot, fast and delicious. Plus the apple pie martini? Ammmmmazing. Our server was Amanda and she was an absolute delight! She was friendly, attentive and made our dinner enjoyable.

Herb crusted fish for my partner and smoky chicken salad for myself. Both were okay. Nothing spectacular. My partner goes more for the Crop Circle wheat beer than the food. An old standby on the way home.
