Wonderful service and phenomenal food. Fried cheese curds were so so good, and we were asked immediately upon seating if we had any special dietary needs. Weāre adding Ollieās to our must-eat list in Madison!

Nice family spot with a huge vegan menu. The vegan cheese curds are absolutely not to be missed.

Seating ā The front desk had a sign saying to seat yourself and grab menus. Only vegan menus were available. When we finally flagged down a server, they didnāt acknowledge the lack of menus. They just seemed to huff and went to grab a standard menu from the bar, almost as if we were being unreasonable.
Drinks ā We ordered two cocktails, which took 20 minutes to arrive. They looked and tasted like basic rail drinks: no garnish, served in plain lowball glasses with standard ice and black stirrers. For $12 each, they looked more like $4 dive bar drinks. Zero effort or presentation.
Food ā The gyro and fries were underwhelming. The gyro had no real seasoning. Just tasted of lamb and sauce heavy on cumin, flat and one-dimensional. The pita wasnāt grilled or warmed, so it tasted straight from the bag. The vegan tofu sandwich was literally a block of unmarinated tofu on bread, drowned in what tasted like Sweet Baby Rayās. Crumbled apart easily, no real structure to it. Slight smokiness aside, it was unappealing. Vegan cheese curds had good texture but were otherwise off.
Service ā The staff seemed overwhelmed and uncoordinated. When we asked to move tables due to noise, no one offered to help with our things. Later, when our food arrived, we asked for silverware at the new table. Instead of bringing a fresh set, the server went back to our old table from ten minutes earlier and handed me the already-opened silverware. It felt careless and unsanitary. Who knows who handled it in the meantime? It would have been simpler (and far more hygienic) to just bring a wrapped, clean set.
Price ā Our total was over $80 for two people, and we both left unsatisfied. The tip was rolled into the bill, which didnāt match the level of service or quality we experienced. We usually tip 20% anyway, but in this case it felt automatic and undeserved. Honestly, it felt like one more way the restaurant took more than it gave.
Overall ā The whole experience felt careless and disconnected. I genuinely hope the cocktail class they host teaches more skill and presentation than what we experienced, because what we had showed neither.

Overpriced, mediocre food. Constantly lying about wait times. If you cannot handle the traffic, just turn people away!
The burger price is just a complete joke...

This is a hard review to write because itās the first time I truly donāt know how to rate a placeā¦
First, you order at your table using the code or you turn the light on to let you know you need help. Which is fine but no one told us this so we sat at the table for 20 minutes without anyone helping us. It wouldāve been nice that someone notice that we clearly donāt know what weāre doing and helped us
We got a drink at the bar while we waited for a table. We got to the table first, our drinks took close to 30 minutes. We didnāt understand why the bartender took our order if she was so backed up and behind that she wasnāt going to get to it for a while.
My niece has Celiac and this was a safe place (anyone who has celiac still tell them that you need them to prepare separately, use clean hands/utensils, etc). They put an allergy sticker on each of our baskets
We got the cheese curds, Brinner burger, GF Gyro, and truffle fries
The truffle fries were very hot and just ok, nothing too special. The aioli was good
The cheese curds were goodā¦but lukewarm at best
The brinner and the gyro were both very good. However the prices werenāt worth what you get, both were $14 and no sides included, just the sandwich/burger
The cocktails and wine were also good when we got them
Overall it was goodā¦think that it was expensive for what you get. It was a safe place for my niece with Celiac to go but I think itās accurate to say weād likely hit up one of the other options in the area before this one

The white tomato bisque was excellentārich, flavorful, and probably the highlight of the meal. The jambalaya, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The sausage was fantastic, but the rice lacked bite and some of the onions were undercooked, which threw off the balance.
The place was packed, and while service was a little stretched, the staff really did their best and I appreciated the effort. The vibe itself is goodāwarm, lively, and comfortable. Overall, Iād call it a mixed bag, but good enough that Iād give it another shot.

Restaurantji Recommends
While they have a large vegan menu, I've received the non-vegan version of what I ordered 3 times now, so I will not be giving the restaurant another chance.
$16 for a large pretzel that was overcooked, hard and tasteless. The beer cheese was to thick to use as a dip. Husband got a fish sandwich that was just ok, but the onion straws were very greasy and not hot. I got the forager hamburger that was not seasoned, otherwise was ok. The fries were not not and limp. It was a disappointing date night for $70. Dave needs to give cooking lessons to his own cooks. Probably will not go back, maybe save someone else $70.

As someone with celiac disease, I left here with tears in my eyes. I miss boneless wings so much. Today, I had the breaded tofu āwingsā with BBQ sauce from Ollieās. You know how people like to cry when they hold their newborn for the first time? I think I genuinely understood that today when I tried the tofu wings. My brothers in Christ, I love my partner wholeheartedly. But if we were at the altar and their tofu bites objected, I would leave him immediately without any hesitation. I see people complaining about the 20% service fee, but it was understandable to me, because obviously they have god, jesus, & the Holy Spirit themselves back in the kitchen that they have to pay. My partner (tofu wings have not yet shown up to take me away) doesnāt even LIKE tofu and he LOVED these. Iād tell you to get them but I want there to be enough left over for me to eat them for every meal. I hope you can all understand. Thank you to Ollieās. I just moved here and I will be a customer for life. We also got to meet THE Ollie a couple weeks ago the first time we were in, and they were such a cool, kind person!

Ordered 3 meals for takeout. The jambalaya and mac & cheese were decent, burger was terrible. Patties were cooked dry and the bun was dry and hard
