Outpost - Lake Koshkonong

Last n8ght we brought 2 guests for fish, our 2nd time after having a very good experience with new owners our 1st time. . We had a drink and ordered after about 15 minutes, 4 baked cod and potato pancakes (homemade).After wait8ng 45 m8nutes and seeing orders come out all around us we flagged server. Our order never turned in. Another 15 minutes and 3 of us got food. We ate and were almost finished when 4th came. Pancakes not fresh but Cod was good. Couldn't get server back for water etc. Guests won't be back for sure. A 2 hour experience.

Food was great but was extremely slow for not being busy. Took over an hour before we got any of our food and when we did get our food it was everything at once. Our appetizer, soups, and meals so our whole table was full of dishes. They did give us complementary chips and dip but also got that a min before all our food came out. Working in the industry I understand things happen but I couldn't figure out the huge delay since it wasn't busy. From start to finish and having to ask for our bill so we could leave, was 3 hrs. Staff was nice and good was good but too slow of a service especially when we had plans and then had to cancel them with how long it took.

We did not go inside as we sat at the outside table on the deck. This is a tucked away place you would have to be looking for, or you would never find it. It's a neighborhood place set back off the water. We were outsiders as everyone else seemed to know each other. Everyone was nice and sociable. Some came by boat, some on bicycles, some on motorcycles, and some on golf carts. Servers were awesome and very tentative. The food was ok.

Great atmosphere with friendly staff and the food was great and they have a good selection of beers on tap and great Old Fashions.

We went early (older people) for a fish fry. Excellent food. Couldn't finish my meal. Which is rare! We all went home with boxes.
Upcharge on choice of potato with meal if you want other than fries.
Was quiet when we went, excellent if you are trying to avoid noise and bustling. Beautiful place.

Our 1st visit. We chose a beer and appetizers. Server chose to mute the television because of a political ad during the airing of the Summer Olympics.
Huge turn off for us. Will not go back!

We enjoy dining and relaxing at the Outpost. The food is always great and their prices are very reasonable. We have never received bad service and highly recommend them!!!

First motorcycle ride of 2024 brought us to Outpost, and to the most excellent bartender/server, Brian. We will be back and will be bringing friends!! Beautiful view of Lake Koshkonong, spacious deck with outdoor stage, clean and friendly cabin atmosphere . Can’t wait to come back.Steve and Michele Schroeder

Just had the best experience at the Outpost! We chose it because it had vegetarian options as well as a fish fry, and we are glad we did. The fish fry, the service and the atmosphere were all great. We had a nice seat by the fire, but I imagine in the warmer months it will be just as nice to sit on the patio and look at the lake.
