Fort 88 Smokehouse

My husband and I ordered a bunch of food for pick up that we wanted to try. We've had this place a couple other times in the past 5 years and it was always hit or miss. This time it was very disappointing. The food is wayy over priced for the quality and taste that you get. The brisket sandwich had an off taste to it I think it was the oil they grilled the bread with or something, but I only took a couple of bites and couldn't eat anymore of it. The waffle fries were ok. The cheese curds were extremely tough to chew, almost like rubber and super dense. The homemade ranch was good. The smokehouse mac & cheese was pretty good out of everything we ordered. My husbands meat sampler was dry and didnt have much flavor, and the cowboy beans tasted like canned beans warmed up the microwave. Overall we are very disappointed with our experience this time and we won't be going back.

Ye had a fish fry with friends and all of us thought the fish was great and potato pancakes were very good. Service was great too.1

Some of the best food around Fort. The burnt ends had a nice touch as an app with the sliced jalapeños.

The only dish that was a miss was the pulled pork mac & cheese.

The service was quick and pleasant. We’ll be back!

Prime rib sandwich was tasty with plenty of chewable far. Fries were good. Coleslaw was just OK. I had to go non-alcohol and root beer was very good.

We’ve been here twice and both times our food and service was great! Nice folks, very prompt and the food tased great. The smoke flavor in the chicken and also the pulled pork was very spot on. The Bloody Mary was fantastic and had a great spice. The cheese curds, now that was fun because they were square and tasted great, not really greasy and light breaded. All in all we’ll be back for sure !

Great atmosphere, I ordered the chicken wings, which had amazing flavor, but were terribly overpriced. They were very small, some of the smallest wings I’ve eaten a restaurant, but some of the priciest. Wouldn’t order again for that reason.

Also ordered the Fort 88 fries as a side and was very happy with them, great taste, and was almost big enough to have as a meal itself.

This was our first visit. We saw the sign on the highway and it sounded good. Between the 2if is we had brisket sandwich, burnt ends and Brussel sprouts. The cut of meat was very good quality. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic!

Used to like to go to 88 though recently were there and the coleslaw was rancid They brought back “fresh” and it was still bad Smelled like it had been left out Tried going back again today and the hostess was very rude, they sat us at a table with hard chairs and we wanted a booth because of back issues We moved to the booth next to us and one woman was kind and said she’d go clear a booth for us as they needed the tables for an event, at that point we thought okay and we’d move Before the first woman could come over to tell us the booth was ready the hostess came up to us with attitude and snarky tone - saying they needed this booth and you can’t just sit wherever you want The tone and attitude was completely rude We won’t be going back We usually have a party of 4 and they will be losing that biz I think your hostesses and wait staff are the face of your establishment and should be kind to the customers

Seems like Ft.Atkinson has alot of places with good food.

Melt in your mouth prime rib sandwich, which was huge. Their shrimp and cheese curd appetizers were equally awesome. Highly recommend.
