Castlerock Sourdough

Cute little home bakery just across the bridge from Winona. Wednesday evenings 1700-2000, they serve the bread hot from the oven for your consumption. Multiple varieties for your palate and all that we tried were excellent! We purchased Buttered Wheat, Cinnamon Raisin, Spelt and White. I am not too experienced eating sourdough, but WOW does it taste really good! I have to lean towards the cinnamon raisin as my favorite, then the Spelt. Buttered Wheat is a bit too strong for me- I had a sweeter flavor in my brain when I purchased it. We will be regular customers whenever we are in the neighborhood. Super caring family business and a lot creating an excellent product. Hope they continued success.

The bread was incredible and the goats are so adorable!! Make sure to come early to grab a loaf.

We’re on our second loaf of 7 grain rye sourdough bread. It’s so good I I actually look forward to waking up in the morning to toast a piece to eat with my breakfast. The taste and texture of the toast is superb, both crunchy and chewy. Needless to say, our second loaf will not be our last!

Recently stopped by for the first time during their open house, and would totally recommend going. I’ve spoken to the owners a few times at the Winona farmer’s market and they’re always incredibly kind. All of their breads are high quality, delicious, and have cute designs scored into them. My personal favorite is the jalapeño cheddar bread but they’re all worth trying. When you stop by, be sure to say hello to the goats!
