The King Crab Shack

I have had my share of seafood boils and when I say this is possibly one of the worse sauces I have ever tasted. The base of seafood boil to me is butter. This sauce has an orange cream tint that tastes very vinegary, that leaves an unpleasant acidic taste on your tongue. The seafood itself was cooked perfectly and you can tell it’s fresh and decently picked. I was upset by the sauce and the lack of any seasoning which I find is hard to do with “sauce”. The service was standard nothing above or beyond, everyone is just walking around with phones in hand. Overall the atmosphere is average seafood spot but it is very clean I can say that. Please reinvent the sauce it will make this business boom!!!

This by far is my worst seafood boil experience everything was bland the sauce was watered down they used pre-cooked shrimp and not raw fresh shrimp

Went there at 11:30am for lunch. The doors were unlocked and open but their 'open' sign and all the lights inside the restaurant was turned off. Their opening hours on the website & doors says 11:30am. Unfortunately that is not true and needs to be updated. The size of seafood is nice. Although note that their headless shrimps is completely de-shell. Which i didnt personally like because the shell is what holds the flavor of the sauce. Luckily i had ordered my sauce on the side so that i could dip my seafood in.
I ordered combo 1 which is choice of headless or head on shrimp & mussels (i will have to get head on shrimp next time if i come back) mussels, your choice of crawfish or clams, 1 corn, 1 potato & 1 sausage. I ordered the house sauce which is all the sauces together. And spice level 'crazy' which is their spicest level. The sauce is ok i guess, more on the tangy side but a little saly for my taste buds. But it was NOT spicy at all. I feel like the spice was mild, not even medium spice level. I was expecting for it to be spicer but was very disappointed in that aspect.
The size of the shrimps was the star of the meal. Everything else was just ok. It was good to try but will not be my goto place for seafood boil.

Got there at 1130 am for lunch, lights and open signs were off but the doors were open. When an employee pulled up walked in it was 1135 am. She sat us down and told us they don't open till 12. The owners should update the signs on the doors and on the internet. Ordered seafood combo 1 with the house sauce with their highest spice level, disappointing it was not spicy at all. Even my husband said it was not spicy at all. He is not one to enjoy spicy food like I do. Crawfish was bigger than other places we've been to. Food came out quickly but then again we were the first customers dining in.

My original go to place was so packed and I didn't feel like waiting with my kids. So I came here. I don't like leaving bad reviews but hey I have to be honest. I did not enjoy this food . The shrimp had no shell on it. The shell captures the flavor of the sauce! Speaking of sauce.. I got the house blend or whatever it is called... Sweet. Very sweet. I'm not sure why it's sweet but I'm not use to that taste for a boil at all. I ordered a lobster tail... Y'all, when I say the SHELL was bigger than the meat..I was so upset. It's like they overcooked it or something. My mussels were huge and tough. I believe everything was over cooked. Idk. I won't be back. Sorry.

I really like the sauce here, i would eat here more if they deveined the shrimp. Every other seafood restaurant in milwaukee cleans the shrimp. I hope you consider this because it makes a big difference.

Food nasty ! Apparently there was no manager on duty for a refund ! waste of a 100 dollars and the sauce is gross

The house fried rice was some of the best fried rice I’ve had in my life. Didn’t think to take a pic until it was all gone. The portions are generous. Not sure why so many had a bad experience/food. Snow crab was cooked perfectly.

My wife and I came here for lunch before a new years masquerade. We were beyond impressed the food. The price we paid for what we recieved was more than worth it. The service was great. Definitely give this place a try

The best seafood boil! I love this restaurant! I've eaten at all the other places and this one tops it all! I always get the seafood boil bag with crabs, mussels, clams, crawfish, headless shrimp, sausage, potato and corn. I get the garlic butter sauce with medium heat. Don't forget to also add garlic bread on the side to dip it in the sauce. Seafood is very fresh and sauce is amazingly flavorful! They also have vietnamese food here to if you're not in the mood for seafood. I really like their pho and the Korean beef ribs rice dish. Service is always excellent and the owner here is so friendly! Place is very clean and cute inside. Don't miss out on this hidden gem !

They are lying in these 5 star reviews ?? First off, the sauce isn't like the other King Crab places. It's extremely sour. Everything was overcooked. The corn was mushy, suggesting it has been just sitting in water for a while until ready to serve, or even possibly from the day before so that they wouldn't waste food. The mussels were chewy, overcooked. My friend's crab was disgusting. It had the texture of a crab that was molting. The only good thing was the sausage. We asked to have our bags made over, and the guy at the front, Ben, treated us like we just wanted free food. NO. The food was just hard to eat. I would've let it go if the sauce was at least good. I definitely wouldn't go again. Ben told us to leave and not come back. Never have I ever been kicked out before, but it was nasty anyway so whatever lol
