Went there with friends for lunch because none of us had been there before. Ambience was fine - football themed; service was mediocre even though there were only a few parons; and food was overpriced for what we received. Since we had all been to worse places we can't really give this an exceptionally bad review.
Cheese curds were good but probably the worst pizza I have ever had. Extremely rock hard crust. We threw the whole thing out after one bite
Food was good & fresh well made & very clean atmosphere totally recommend
Disappointing
I frequently travel to Green Bay. Poke is not only convenient, but serves delicious food in healthy portions (best cheese curds in town). The bar has a great selection of beer and spirits. The staff are awesome--Katie, Ryan, Paul, Pam are always accommodating, friendly and fun! When the bar is busy, I've seen nothing but the highest level of professionalism and patience with other guests that I would expect to see at any service-based venue. Well done!
I have been meaning to post a review for sometime now. My team has stayed at the Hotel Northland for well over a year now. We have spent a lot of time at Poke the Bear. Not only is the food great, the best part of the restaurant is the service. Katie is the best!! She has been so kind and always makes my team feel at home. We always look forward to our time in Green Bay and our nightly visits to Poke the Bear. Pam and her staff have been incredible and their hospitality will keep our company coming back!
I am often at the hotel here for work, so I feel like I owe Poke the Bear a review.
Food is great, I got the Bang Bang Shrimp special yesterday, it was tasty af. Great bourbon selection and lots of Wisconsin beers to sample on tap.
Pam the Manager is the Best!
Server Paul is great.
Katie the bartender is alright too. Knowledgeable about ice cube shapes, drinks, etc.
Great service, massive portions, delicious food. They serve food late! Open til 11pm perfect for a late night bite.
UNBELIEVABLE!!! A JOKE
My best friend, daughter and her best friend all went in for cocktails before our dinner. The bartender, barely a day over 21, decided she did not want to serve us - as she felt we were “ Overserved” Mind you there was NO ONE else in the bar except one other table of 4 people with a puppy -as animal lovers we all said hi. We were in there for over a half an hour and received only a glass of water-after multiple times of request. While six workers stood around talking -finally one of the nice gentleman servers said he would serve us if we came and sat at his table. He explained the bartender felt we were “over-served” as we were talking to a puppy!!!! We had one glass of wine at Captains walk prior to coming in. I did reach out to the manager Pam, who apologized profusely for her staff members unprofessional behavior and said she would set the inexperience new employee straight. I am completely offended. As a healthcare professional in this community, at this type of behavior and disrespectfulness. she offered to buy us a round and appetizers and dinner. I appreciate the effort but have no intention of returning to a place that treats their customers with such disrespect and unprofessionalism. There’s a reason why there establishment is empty.
Love this place and Katie the bartender was great and loved that they had live music. Come and check it out you will love it 😊

Food was stellar I highly recommend the cheese curds, as they are some of the best I've tried as a life long Wisconsinite! Also need to mention the entrees we had were great too! However, could be because of Valentine's Day but we waited on our dessert (one fist sized cookie skillet with a scoop of gelato) for about a half hour to 45 minutes so that wasn't the best experience but overall a 8/10 in my book! The severs and staff were exceptionally nice they just seemed a bit overwhelmed that day.
From host to dessert we had the most wonderful Valentine's Day experience at Poke the Bear. Everyone was friendly and gracious. The food was outstanding. You must try the Wisconsin Style Old Fashioned they were delicious! Thank you to all for working Valentine's Day.
Really great service and restaurant was clean. However, we didn't enjoy the food. Perch was tasteless, no flavor. Coleslaw was not good. Bred came without butter. Salad came with meal instead of before meal. They kept spraying some type of incense around that gave me a headache. I would recommend the artichoke / cheese dip with flat bread, this was awesome. Overall, not a great choice for dinner. Not sure about the bar, that looked good, and they were setting up for live music which I'm sure was good... sorry, just wish the food had more flavor. Next time we'll plan ahead and go to Republic Chop House :-)
Our reservation was at 12:15, but we arrived 30 minutes early. The hostess took us to a table immediately, as there were tables open. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. My friend was having a birthday and we were given a fabulous dessert to share. I'd definitely go back!
We had a party of 26, that's alot of people and I'm having that reflect but the food came out so slow by the time the last person got it the first few were done. They gave us drink tickets and made me pass it out then just put all the drinks on the same bill even though I asked to only pay the first round. The food was hit and miss, some dishes people liked others were real dry.
