Great food and beautiful setting overlooking Green Lake. Incredible service provided by Chris.
There were 5 of us. Some had the barramundi, another pasta with mushroom sauce and another the Korean Bbq pork. All were very happy with their meals. Service was great, and you can't beat the ambience.
Beautiful views, coupled with exquisitely prepared meals served professionally made this a perfect night for our 40th wedding anniversary. This is a Wisconsin gem!
Although the view was outstanding the meal and service was not. We were there for Mother's Day looking for a wonderful brunch. We found a breakfast where the food trays were depleted. There was a sufficient amount of scrambled eggs however there was a small amount of potatoes, no bacon, little amount of biscuits and no gravy. I advised the staff. Self serve coffee area. There had been a large group ahead of us however the kitchen should have been prepared for that. It wasn't a brunch. Very disappointed.
We appreciated the great view of Green Lake from our table. The food was tasty, warm and served appetizingly on the buffet table. On Mother's Day, we appreciated the time with our elderly mother, who you accommodated with allowing extra time.
Very good food, very nice staff, excellent view. We have dined here numerous times and have never been disappointed,
Our reservation was for the Easter buffet. Service was prompt and courteous. However, the value and quality of the buffet was subpar in our opinion. For the cost of the buffet, we had hoped there would be a Sous Chef slicing prime rib and ham or making omelets or something. Instead, the beef entree was very tough beef tips and scrambled egg was the egg selection. We were also informed that juices were available for an extra charge. Overall, the buffet mirrored your typical hotel breakfast, with the exception of the desserts that were available and ok (nothing stellar).
"Oakwood Restaurant & Bar" located inside The Heidel House Hotel, Green Lake, Wisconsin, is the perfect place to dine. If you want a spectacular view of our great lake, excellent food prepared by a professional & qualified chef, and a charmed ambiance, Oakwood Restaurant is the place to be. Graycie was our server and she was excellent. I had the walleye and it was very tasty with great presentation. Very pleased with food and service.
They are really trying to be a nice upscale restaurant......but the waite staff lacks; no mention of specials, not taking the ladies order first, way too long between salad and main course. And the place was 25% full and even with reservations we waited 20 to be asked if we wanted a drink. The filet was market price, but low quality. Overall a disappointing meal. Too bad, I'm local & had high hopes.

Beautiful setting. All four had Walleye dinners and the fish was perfectly prepared. We always meet friends here when we want to have a conversation, because the noise levels are managed with fabrics and a glass divider between dining and the bar.
We have been going to the Hiedel House for over 55 years. It's an experience that gets better with every visit.
Wonderful evening with visiting friends. We sat by the windows and looked out on the lake as we had our appetizers and meals.
Gorgeous view of Big Green Lake. Food and drinks are always solid. It's a place I find myself going to more and more. Keep up the good work!

The view and dining room were wonderful, as was the service. The food was good but not outstanding, yet. I think it will continue to improve. The Salmon was cooked very nicely but the walleye was bland and needed seasoning. The cheesy Polenta cake was fabulous. I could have had it for dessert. The wine list was nice and well-priced. All in all, I would go back and try other dishes.
