After decades of enjoying the Organ Piper, it appears last night will be the last time. No longer a family-friendly establishment. We arrived around 6:30pm, peak time for dinner, so we were prepared to wait for a table. When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised to see quite a few tables open that just needed to be cleared/cleaned. It took a bit for someone to acknowledge us standing by the hostess stand (there was a sign directing to wait to be seated). The hostess let us know there were tables open but they just needed to wipe them and it would just be a few minutes. After 10minutes, a group that came in behind us was sat before us. No one came to check in or give us an update after and additional 10 minutes and more tables were open at this point. We flagged down the hostess and she said “you all have how many again?” And then said she just had to wipe down one last table. She walked away to clean the table. After 5 more minutes of her not returning, Another hostess I think could sense our confusion and told us we could grab one of the open tables. We had 5 kids in our group (all 5 and under). They really enjoyed the music and all the action. There were about 5 other kids twirling and dancing near the rug in front of the organ which in our experience is pretty common. Within 15 minutes of getting a table, my son hands me something that an older kid handed to him. It was some promotional packaging for a movie with a condom inside!!! Without knowing where that other kid went, we chalked it up to hoping that the kid found it on the ground somewhere but we were a bit put off. Anyways, what really sent us (quite literally) was the public shaming by the organist. As the music went on, all of the kids (not just the ones in our group) were enjoying themselves and dancing and playing. Did they get a little too excited at times? Yes, they are kids having fun. But they were reeled back in and took breaks in the arcade. We came back and the kids went back to playing on the rug, much more calm as most of the other kids had gone by this time. They were sitting on the rug together playing with the toys from the arcade games. After one of the organists’ breaks, he came out and played one song. After the song, he gave a little speech about being distracted by the kids getting to be “too rowdy”. He said the parents needed to please do something or else he’d “call it a night” right now (still a half hour left before close). someone from behind the counter yelled "THIS IS A RESTAURANT!". It was clear he was talking to us as he stared us down and waited for us to grab our kids. There was silence. We were shocked. It was clear kids were not welcomed. we grabbed our kids and left immediately. I can absolutely understand if you have an issue with behavior. What I don't understand is why we weren't approached personally instead of being put on blast and publicly called out with a threat of calling it a night. Very unprofessional and extremely distasteful.
Fun for kids.

The best: nostalgia overload, on the best way. Absolutely darling, charming, good clean fun. Great for families, sure, but also for this gen X girl who felt so happy and nostalgic for the good days of my childhood when places like this were common. The sounds and interesting, amusing accoutrements to the music are fun and made me giggle like a kid. The Raggedy Ann doll doing flips is cool. The organ player was phenomenal. Truly what a unique skill he has. Not everyone can play such a beast! The moving parts were fun to watch. I was mesmerized so much, I almost forgot to eat. The young woman who took our order was incredible. She clearly loves this place and working there. That alone was a refreshing change from the norm. We liked her sweet spirit and help with ordering as I'd mentioned it was my first time there! The cheese and pepperoni were fantastic. Absolutely delicious. I got the kids pizza and it wasn't enough, but it's a good size of you prefer a salad to go with it. Next time I'll get a small to eat there or a medium to have some for next day. The cheese was just SO good, really fresh good cheese, real Wisconsin cheese! The sauce was thin and not very flavorful but did have a nice tomato richness. We got there too late to enjoy the arcade, but it's a good retro space. I was transported back to 1983. I'll definitely remember to bring change or quarters and play some pinball and other games next time I visit. The booths were comfy. Everyone there (customers and employees alike) were truly helpful and nice. Just a fun, innocent, night put with good vibes. It was nice to not think about politics and general cultural rancor, but just enjoy being a human, adult, American, hungry customer, and laugh and enjoy a good Coke on ice, hot fresh pizza, and good conversation and exceptional pipe organ music! I want to return soon to try the fish fry and try a nice big salad too.
The only bad detail: The crust was hard, dry, like cardboard. And cracker thin. Like a wafer, too thin for my tastes. And so dry and chalky.
Vegetarian options: Go all in on veggies galore. Pile it up. Fantastic mozzarella.
Kid-friendliness: Entire place is made for kids of all ages. Kids love dancing by the organ.

The Organ Piper Pizza Palace is a one-of-a-kind restaurant with live organ music and unique percussion. The pizza is good, the service is friendly, but the main reason to come is to see the organist play many requested favorites. The kids like to gather and dance to the music.

I visited this place on Tuesday night. It was a great experience. The music experience was nice. The food was good. We shared pizza and salad. Comfort food, do not expect anything fancy. Seat yourself. You order/ pay at the counter, and wait for the food. They give you a number to pick up your food.
Great place for families, with a little arcade next to the dining room.
