One of the best restaurants in Milwaukee? If you like fresh delicious beef, lamb and chicken with saffron rice, hummus, baba ganoush then it could very well be. We had a lovely waitress making my mothers 90th birthday a joy.

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time. The restaurant was clean and vibrant with cultural decor and colors, music. The service was perfect and the food was unbelievable. We’ll be back! Try the mixed appetizer plants and mixed grill with 2 to 4. Pistachio baklava was delish.

I lived in Egypt for two years, and this is the best Middle Eastern food I've had in America!
The bread! Oh dear the bread! Light and hot and fluffy in places but crunchable on the ends!
I can still taste the sumac and onions a day later!
Why ever eat at any other restaurant ever again?

The spinach pie was really doughy and chewy. When it cooled off, it was rock hard. Not enough spinach in the pie. The beef kabobs were seasoned well, but very chewy. Very cheap cut of meat.

Hands down, this has to be one of my top dining experiences in Milwaukee or anywhere. From the great service, to the colorful atmosphere and the amazing food, I have zero complaints. For our appetizer we had the hummus and fatayer (one cheese one meet), entrees we had the mixed grill and the dawalee (stuffed grape leaves) and for dessert we had one pistachio and one walnut baklava.
Everything we ate was very fresh and flavorful. We will definitely be back!

Food is amazing. Best hummus in the Milwaukee area. Everything I have tried is great. My girlfriend and I get takeout on weeknights regularly when we don't feel like cooking but want healthy and delicious eats.

An Absolute Culinary Paradise – Taqwa’s is My New Favorite Spot in Milwaukee! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I can’t say enough amazing things about Taqwa’s Bakery & Restaurant in Greenfield, WI – it’s hands down the best Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dining experience I’ve ever had! From the moment I stepped inside this hidden gem at 4651 S 27th St, I was transported to a warm, inviting oasis that feels like a luxurious Bedouin tent with its stunning decor, cozy lighting, and impeccable cleanliness. The ambiance is so welcoming and elegant, making it the perfect place for a romantic date, family gathering, or even a solo treat. And as a women-owned business, it adds that extra layer of heart and authenticity that you can truly feel in every detail.
The food? Oh my goodness, where do I even start? Everything is made with such love and fresh, high-quality ingredients that burst with flavor – it’s like tasting tradition in every bite! I started with the creamy hummus and falafel, which were perfection: the hummus is silky smooth with just the right tang from tahini and lemon, and the falafel is crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, seasoned to absolute bliss. For my main, I went with the Chicken Shish Tawook platter – marinated chicken that’s charbroiled to juicy, tender perfection, served with seasoned rice, grilled veggies, and a fresh side salad. It was so flavorful and generous in portion; I couldn’t stop raving about it! Don’t even get me started on the manakish and cheese pies baked fresh in their stone oven – they’re like warm, fluffy hugs from the Middle East. And the vegetarian options? Out of this world – the spinach fatayer and foul moudamas are healthy, delicious, and incredibly satisfying.
The service is another highlight – our server was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure we had everything we needed without ever hovering. They even recommended the refreshing lemon mint smoothie, which was the ideal cool-down after all those amazing flavors. Prices are super affordable for the quality (entrees around $10-25, but worth every penny), and they offer halal, vegan, and gluten-free choices, plus a kids’ menu that’s thoughtful and tasty. The desserts sealed the deal: the baklava is flaky, nutty heaven, and pairing it with Turkish coffee was pure magic – rich, aromatic, and the perfect end to an unforgettable meal.
If you’re in the Greenfield or Milwaukee area, do yourself a favor and visit Taqwa’s immediately! It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of culture, community, and culinary excellence. Taqwa’s, you’ve won my heart and my taste buds – 10/10, would (and will) recommend to everyone! Thank you for making my dining dreams come true! 💝🍴🇵🇸
