We had dinner there and thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails and meals. Our waiter was exceptional. Both of us had different BBQ sandwiches that were delicious. We plan on returning in 2022 to try their Sat. night smoked prime rib.

Met a friend for lunch today, not sure what's going on there but it was terrible. Won't be going back. It was so good in the beginning...sad.

After shopping in the town of Hayward where face masks are the rule, we stopped here for dinner. None of the staff wore masks. When I asked for bbq sauce, the waitress took a carton of sauce from a table previously occupied by other patrons. Nothing had been sanitized. It made me wonder if anything had been sanitized. The waitress had very short term memory. We had to ask twice for appetizer plates and water. The meals came minutes after the appetizer arrived. Food was very good, especially the ribs. Also a good variety of sauces. Another staff member was very attentive and friendly.

We went to this bbq place last week. We’ve been there 3 times and twice the smoker was not working. That seems a bit odd. Wisconsin law states that masks are required in restaurants and bars now. Not a single staff member at the Rusty Nail wore a mask, nor were the tables spaced as required. We found this upsetting, but decided to stay since it wasn’t very crowded. The most upsetting event was yet to come. The waitress forgot my biscuit, and when I asked for it, she actually carried it from the kitchen in her hand.... no plate, no napkin, just her fingers. I was so shocked I could barely speak. I asked for one that she hadn’t touched and she said “oh yeah.” She returned with one in a cup but of course I assumed it was the same biscuit and couldn’t eat it. What a disaster. Additionally, our brisket was dried out and seemed days old. We will never return there!

We stop here fairly frequently. The sandwiches are interesting and good. Wonderful pairings with a variety of toppings. Have not had a bad one yet. Lots of flavor, generous portions. Their Brisket plate was wonderful. Ended up taking enough home for another meal. The staff has always been friendly and quick to provide service. This has become our go-to stop for a quick and very tasty meal.
