We love food and we love travel and this was the best restaurant and people we have ever been to; consistently wonderful. We bought land in the area because we figured we would be at Fireside most weekends. I am so sorry to hear you have closed. I hope you do well in the future.

Excellent Northwoods lodge vibe crossed with gourmet cuisine. Had a traditional Belgian dish that was perfectly executed. A welcome surprise and worth a detour. Appreciate that one can have a beer at a very reasonable price or try a wine pairing suggestion.

A+ every visit! The escargot is amazing!! Every dish I’ve had at the fireside has been delicious! Every time I leave the restaurant I start thinking of when I can come back and enjoy the atmosphere, food and hosts again! The French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had! The Fireside is definitely the best food in the area! You won’t regret it. Arrive hungry!!

Food was very good, old fashions were great. Old time super club feel, service was fantastic. Way too overpriced for the area and what you get

Had dinner here for the first time this past Saturday evening. We were impressed. Friendly, attentive service. Creative specials. Shared a cup of the Cream of Celery Blue Cheese soup with my husband. Delicious. I had one of the specials, Beef Brisket served with new potatoes and mushrooms. Could cut the meat with your fork it was so tender and it had wonderful flavor. I was impressed with their house salad that came with the entrees. Usually you get some iceberg lettuce but not here. A nice blend of greens with slivered carrots and thinly sliced radishes. I had the Blue Cheese dressing which was great. I had noticed some reviews had pointed out a bit higher prices but our dinners were worth every penny. We will be back. Kudos to the chef, great job. Only regret, We were too full to have dessert.

We select a different restaurant in the area to have dinner at with friends each month. This was great gourmet food. Upscale atmosphere as well.

Fine dinning. From the 70's. Still good today. Both the decor and the menu have not been updated in decades. It is ok because the tenderloin is a wonderful dinner. My friend had something shrimp and swooned over it. The presentation is the finest in the area. The ccx restaurant is worth the price.

AMAZING! WILL BE BACK AGAIN & AGAIN. From the moment we stepped in the door the service was amazing. The owner sat us, the server was very knowledgeable and helpful in helping us decide was to order (it all sounded so good and it was hard to decide). The food was delightful, thoughtful, flavored so well and satisfying. The creativity and love for food that the owner & chef has is very obvious from presentation to the last bite. Thank you for such a great experience.

The cozy, rustic and quite dinning room with Frank Sinatra playing sets the mood for what is sure to be one of the best dining experiences one could have. The service, menu and food left nothing to be desired. The quality of the food, the flavor and how it was prepared & presented was not lost on us. This food makes you slow down, enjoy every bite and leave completely satisfied and wanting to come back again.

A culinary oasis in the heart of meat & potatoes. This is a chef owned emporium of fine cuisine you would to expect in San Francisco or LA or NYC...a model we take for granted at home in Charleston. Tonight's dinner is the best we've enjoyed in the last year. Thanks Chuck & Erica.
