What a nice little place. The wine is delicious and the gentleman there was a pleasure to talk to. Free tastings are always a plus. If you are in the area, stop by.
A wine for every palate! Had 20 wines on the bar to try from Dry all the way to Dessert levels of sweet. The gentleman working the bar was very helpful and friendly. Couldn’t decide on which wine to buy, but we finally settled on The Sweet Cherry and White Sangria. The Ruby Lady was tough not to buy, I can see why it’s won so many awards. Definitely worth the drive for this hidden gem!
Excellent offering of wine, tasting bar extraordinary, wines are marvelous especially the fruit selection.
This is a great winery. The wine is absolutely delicious. There were so many that tasted great, it was hard to get just one or two cases. The owner and worker were both so friendly & FUN.I can't wait to go back!!
Spurgeon vineyards is a wonderful tiny family Vinyard in the middle of the remote Driftless area of southern Wisconsin.A multi-generational operation that uses local grapes to make a dozen or so varieties of wines that are easy to drink and tasty. It’s not fancy…and to my palate the wines run sweeter and fruitier, but I liked the 4 samples I tried and bought two to take home. These folks used to grow their own grapes, but the vines got old. The gentleman behind the counter has seen a lot at this place having spent 42 years tending to the family business. He doesn’t hear so well but he knows his wines. There are places to sit outside and take a rest. You can buy wines and refrigerated snacks and gifts inside
Love Spurgen’s! My family had been coming here for years and we’ve never been disappointed 😌 good staff, good wine and a good time all around!

Home brew wine, good people, Grant County's little secret.
We enjoyed the free sampling of wines. I already knew Ruby Lady was my favorite wine ever but I hadn’t tried their many varieties of wines. We enjoyed some chilled Sweet Cherry on their covered deck. It was so quiet and relaxing. The pamphlet says “enjoy wine over looking the vineyard”. It is not overlooking a vineyard but is overlooking a pasture with horses and a stream which was nice. Parking is limiting but it wasn’t busy. We enjoyed our time and will buy more variety of their wines now that we’ve tasted them.
Awesome wine and owner!
A little hidden treasure of a vineyard! Want some good wine at a decent price then head to Spurgeons. Free wine tasting and some outdoor seating!
Went looking today for the winery west of town, but no signs out in the country. Drove 8 miles down the twisting country road; never did find it. Too bad and our loss, based on the reviews.
