I have never had the pleasure of coming to the winery. On vacation I stopped at a cheese shop that carries their wine and picked up the Wisconsin Cranberry.
When I got home and shared a glass with family we all decided it was the best wine we have had!
I ordered a half case and it came promptly and packaged perfectly. I will definitely order again and will make a trip one day to the winery.
The owner of the shop attended us personally and was knowledgeable about all his wines. We tasted as many as we liked and bought 5 different varieties (could have gotten more, but didn't want to come across as too much of a lush). The sweet wines that they're known for is the best wine I've ever had. At the prices, which amount to low- to mid-rangr grocery store wine prices, were exceptionally fair given the uniqueness and quality of the product. Will be going back for full crates of our favorites. No need to buy from big box stores ever again.
Such a friendly and warm place. The wines are delicious, particularly the Ruby Lady, Wisconsin Cranberry, Safe Harbor, Blueberry Mead, and St Pepin. They did a beautiful remodel over the winter of 24-25 and have great local live music often, along with other fun and creative events!
Excellent wines with tastes that thoroughly mirror the fruits and berries they contain. The best wines we've found near Taliesin and The House On The Rock. Well worth the drive.
Great selection of wines . Definitely a beautiful place to enjoy some time with family. Definitely worth a beautiful drive to this vineyard .
What a nice little place. The wine is delicious and the gentleman there was a pleasure to talk to. Free tastings are always a plus. If you are in the area, stop by.
A wine for every palate! Had 20 wines on the bar to try from Dry all the way to Dessert levels of sweet. The gentleman working the bar was very helpful and friendly. Couldn’t decide on which wine to buy, but we finally settled on The Sweet Cherry and White Sangria. The Ruby Lady was tough not to buy, I can see why it’s won so many awards. Definitely worth the drive for this hidden gem!
Excellent offering of wine, tasting bar extraordinary, wines are marvelous especially the fruit selection.
This is a great winery. The wine is absolutely delicious. There were so many that tasted great, it was hard to get just one or two cases. The owner and worker were both so friendly & FUN.I can't wait to go back!!
Spurgeon vineyards is a wonderful tiny family Vinyard in the middle of the remote Driftless area of southern Wisconsin.A multi-generational operation that uses local grapes to make a dozen or so varieties of wines that are easy to drink and tasty. It’s not fancy…and to my palate the wines run sweeter and fruitier, but I liked the 4 samples I tried and bought two to take home. These folks used to grow their own grapes, but the vines got old. The gentleman behind the counter has seen a lot at this place having spent 42 years tending to the family business. He doesn’t hear so well but he knows his wines. There are places to sit outside and take a rest. You can buy wines and refrigerated snacks and gifts inside
