I stopped by here for the very first time (definitely not the last time) at around 3:30pm on the 2nd of September 2025. This place is awesome! Based on other reviews, I drove 15 miles one way to try Charlie's Drive-In, and it was totally worth it. I loved everything about it, including driving through the old small-town architecture and atmosphere of Hortonville. The old 50's style car-hop service was a great throw-back to a time before I even existed. The menu was old style and simple with the basics which allows the kitchen staff to perfect the fewer items they have, and perfect it they have. My burger was amazing, and the ingredients were obviously very fresh. My strawberry milk shake was unlike any other I have previously tried. The strawberries seemed to have blended just prior to the car-hop girl delivering it to my car window. The culinary portion of my experience was utter perfection. The service was excellent as well. When I first pulled in, there was a lot of vehicles in the lot. The young waitress and the chefs cooking away in the kitchen had us down to me and just one other car by the time I left 15 minutes after pulling into the lot. She was friendly, professional and very efficient at her job.

Perfect. Just perfect. Sentimental sensations alone are worth the trip. Our server was happy, personable, helpful, efficient and thorough. The selection is ex optionally old school; the prices very reasonable. Best $25 meal for two I’ve had in more than twenty years. Great for kids, families, teens and couples young and old.
