First time visit. Very cozy // family friendly vibe, visited on Sunday as walk-in. They're fully booked lunch and dinner but they do have some table available for walk-ins. Had sausage sampler, cream of mushroom soup, and Winzer Stube Burger. All tasty! Service was great, felt welcomed, waitress was very friendly. Would visit again!
Have dinner with friends here as often as we can, about 1 / 2 per month on average depending on weather. Always a great selection - tough to decide with so many wonderful choices and very generous portions!
This is an excellent German restaurant. It has a very small and intimate feel, and there was live music accompanying the dinner. The food is all the standard German fare that you would expect. For example I had schnitzel which was very good. There are several varieties. Also given how busy the place was, the service was very fast. 5/5 would go again.
Always love coming to Winzer Stube. Friendly service, a good list of beers on tap, and incredible German foods. One of the few places I genuinely want to try something different on the menu each time because I have yet to swing and miss. The ambiance is excellent, and the decor and the frequent live accordion player just adds to the feeling of being in Germany.
This place was amazing. Tucked away in a cozy basement with authentic German dishes, great atmosphere and items from Germany. The red cabbage was delicious, salmon and white mouth watering. Imported German beers are available. Have a flight, half point or pint of beer. Cocktails are great as well. Don't forget the black forest chocolate cake with a cherry filling. Best ever. Enjoyed and will be back for sure.
Wonderful German food! I'll be the first to admit that I am not really drawn to German food - it's way too meat-heavy for me, but my SO and I were meeting a friend here today who LOVES meat and German food, and I was delighted to see they have non-meat items on the menu (I'm not a vegetarian but I tend to eat very little meat regardless). First we shared a nice hot pretzel with delicious, seedy, spicy German mustard. I had the potato pancakes which were crisp and delicious. Our friend and a schnitzel (tried it, thumbs up!) and my SO had the Chicken Hunter - also absolutely delicious. We share apple strudel for dessert and it is highly recommended as well! Our wait person was a nice German lady with a delightful accent and great sense of humor. Prost to this place - worth the drive from the Cities and beyond. We will definitely be back!
We came here on a hunch while traveling through the Great Lakes region. The atmosphere, the kindness, the food. 10/10We had the garlicky mushroom app, chicken & dumplings soup, goulash and chicken cranberry chutney. Desert was raspberry bread pudding. Phenomenal!!!
We ate here on a Tuesday afternoon, so was not very busy. I had the Schnitzel sandwich and my wife had a Reuben along with each a glass of Dr Loosen wine. All were great and the service was also great. It is not very often that we get to a true German Restaurant and this was very good compared to those that call what they make as German food. The serving was more than enough for a late lunch and took some home. Next time we are in the area, we plan to try a different item for the variety, hoping that we are hungrier.
Great place to have a great meal. We will be back again.
Amazing, authentic food and great service!

Good menu and service. You don't need to be a fan of German food or beer to find something good yet out of the ordinary.
Ughhhh it pains me to leave this review because we have been going to this restaurant for 5 years and have always loved it but the last four times I have ordered from them they have made mistakes. Either they have forgotten soup, one time they got the entire meal wrong, today they forgot cabbage. This time we ordered through GrubHub and doordash delivered and I called them to make sure the order was correct due to having so many issues in the past. After spending $68 this is what we got (plus tip and door dash fee). They forgot our cabbage and informed us that two days ago they stopped serving bread with meals....They offered for us to drive there to get the cabbage (not an option for to sick kids and far drive) or to refund that portion of it... The woman suggested that we call to make sure the order is correct and I pointed out to her that we did and she said yeah I know... I know restaurants are suffering right now but this wasn't a one or two time occurrence. I would definitely recommend only ordering from them if you physically go in and order as their food is delicious... Bit for take out (call in yourself and pick up and grub hub/door dash they simply can not get an order correct). Certainly not worth the money we spent.
Great service, great food, and great atmosphere! We’ll be back again!!
The perfect cozy basement restaurant for fans of German and Bavarian cuisine. The food, decor and ambience make you feel immediately comfortable. Their menu is quite large, offering a variety of dishes from the Old Country with a Midwestern influence. I've never had a bad dish here, from the Bavarian pretzels to sausages, traditional red and white cabbage, bread dumplings, spatzel, hunter's gravy over Wienerschnitzel and more - it's ALL delicious! The portions are generous and their beer and wine lists are extensive. A wonderful place to enjoy a quiet dinner or a dinner with the entire family! Everyone can find something they want and will love, here.
I came by myself to celebrate German American Day. Being a very picky German I thought the food was decent, but not mind blowing. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel (veal) but added the Jägersosse. It came with Spätzle that to me were a little dry. It also came with red and white cabbage. For some reason the center 3rd of my Schnitzel tasted extremely fishy and I honestly couldn't even try to pinpoint why. I do need to add that I absolutely despise seafood of any kind so any fish taste throws me off completely. This almost tasted like anchovies paste. In any case, it was weird because the entire outer rim tasted perfectly normal. I just ended up leaving the middle.I did also get the Apfelstrudel for dessert which was great and included vanilla ice cream and a very delicious cinnamon whipped cream. Service was good, my waitress was very sweet. The menu is very big with loads of great choices. I actually had a really hard time choosing but there aren't many places that even serve veal so the Schnitzel won.
