Kickapoo Valley Guest Cabins

My husband and I just returned home from 3 glorious days and nights at the Kickapoo Valley Ranch. Cowboy Joe was very hospitable and told us if we needed anything to let him know. Our cabin was Crazy Jacks Place. It was absolutely a dream come true. The cabins were very spacious, immaculately clean, they had everything you’d need. Beautiful cabins, very well kept!! We had a gorgeous view of the open sky at night, full of stars, very very quiet, we didn’t want to do much cooking so went to Riversend in Ontario, and also Rockton and got food to go so we could warm it up when we wanted. The most relaxed we’ve been in years!! The only thing we wished we would’ve brought was binoculars, a lot of deer and other animals coming out of the woods and would’ve been fun to see them close up. I’m sure you’ve read about Cowboy Dave’s cookies, well they were definitely amazing . We will make this a yearly trip!!

Cabins? That's an understatement. Luxury 5 star, beautifully built, tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, quality, quality, quality. A 23 year established congratulations Joe.

This serene, peaceful sanctuary has been a delightful surprise. Our cabin was spacious, immaculately well-kept, and offered a back deck overlooking a pasture of wildflowers and tree-shrouded hills. The delicious homemade cookies waiting for us were a wonderful touch.

Highly recommended for its quiet location and clean, comfortable cabins.

Can’t speak highly enough of this place! Snuck away from the city for some quality alone time to write and wander without day to day distraction and this place nailed it. Immaculately kept, and perfectly in the middle of damn nowhere. Highly recommend this escape, and will be back asap! Thx for having me!!!

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE Kickapoo Valley Guest Cabins. There is no other place like it in the midwest, may the planet?! From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the most adorable faces - the lamas! Checking in is easy and fun with Cowboy Joe. Cowboy Joe is one of the most welcoming souls I've ever met, and we hit it off right away. It's a joy to meet one of the owners - it helped me feel safer and I rested easy knowing Cowboy Joe was there for us. Bonus - we had the most DELICIOUS home baked peanut butter chocolate breakfast muffins - what a gift! We stayed in The Albertella Homestead, probably the best cabin on the planet. Expansive views, rocking Adirondack chairs, a kitchenette, and so much love. We could not imagine a better getaway and will be returning year after year! Thank you Kickapoo Valley Guest Cabins!

The cabins are clean and comfortable and the beds and pillows...amazing!!! we were greeted quickly upon arrival and had the nicest chat with our host. be sure to order cookies to take home. They were the best cookies I have ever eaten. the area is so beautiful, so many places to hike or fish. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. it was so lovely and friendly.

Amazing experience! Cowboy Joe is the most welcoming host, and truly went above and beyond. The cabins are pristine with incredible amenities (whole bean coffee with a grinder, an electric grill, and so much more). I have never enjoyed my morning coffee as much as I did here. The private porch with rocking chairs, looking out at the picturesque Kickapoo Valley, so quiet and peaceful. The cookies in the room are the best! I want to try ALL of the baked goods!!! There’s so much more I could say! I’ve never loved a place I’ve stayed as much as here, and I’ve traveled a decent amount. The people, the cabins, the peace and beauty! I can’t recommend it enough!

There are many magical experiences one can access in the Driftless Region but top of the list is a stay at the Kickapoo Valley Ranch.
