Their NYE dinner was the worst I’ve ever experienced. The food was cold, if it came at all. I have never paid so much for such substandard food and service. What they advertised, and what we got were worlds apart.

We had our family Christmas brunch at this beautiful "step back in time" spot. We had a parlor all to ourselves and such great service!

Before I begin my critique of high tea at the Baker House let me state that my comments are not directed in any way to the hard working waitstaff. Rather, I'm directing my comments to the owners/management of the Baker House. My daughters and granddaughters reserved a table for high tea on 12/21. Once seated, we waited and waited for someone to take our tea choice. We ordered our tea and because we had an 8 year old with us, we asked for warm milk. We were told that the Baker House had no milk (really?). We then asked for light drinks before tea but were told that the wait would be a while since, I guess, there was no bartender. We were also told there were no child friendly sandwiches, i.e. pb&j finger sandwiches. The waitstaff was completely overwhelmed and doing double duty as hostesses and waiters. After an hour with only water to sip on and absolutely no food in sight, we finally got up and left. Believe me I'm abbreviating our experience here. I have had tea all over the country and have never had an unpleasant experience such as we experienced at the Baker House. One of our party owns a house in Williams Bay, and is always happy to support local businesses. This certainly will not extend to the Baker House. As we left, our poor waitress apologized and asked if we would like to talk to her manager. I said I would. Waited another 10 minutes in the lobby, but no manager! Decided this establishment did not deserve a minute more of our time. I guess if I'm forced to give a star rating, I can say that the water was wet.
I play piano for their dinners and often stay here. Its a gorgeous, clean and romantic getaway!

We went there for a brunch and the only good things we enjoyed were the view and the service. Our server was nice, polite and friendly.
The food was basic and okay. Definitely overpriced! We paid over $100,before the tip,for a brunch for two with lukewarm coffee:(
not to mention, that the famous hats were so beat up and extremely dirty

We were here for High Tea and the service was terrible. They were not that busy and we waited over 1.5 hours to receive our tea and three tier of pastries/mini sandwiches. The food was just okay and very overpriced for what they give you. When we were given the tea, the waitress tells us “idk which tea pot has which tea, sorry.” She then disappeared and was no where to be found. We were stuck there waiting to pay so we can leave and I had to finally go find her. It’s $100 for 2 people plus tip. I would not recommend. It’s not worth it. And this was the worst service I have ever had. The tour was the only thing that was worth it and the gentleman that does the tour is great and entertaining. And the historic home is very cool.

Would not recommend. We did not stay at the hotel, but decided to dine at their steak house on our last evening in Lake Geneva. It was not a great experience.
Food and drinks: We were initially excited to visit The Steak House. Their location, ambiance and menu looked great online. Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to our expectations.
We were seated in the corner of one of their rooms. Honestly the seating wasn't bad until they welcomed a large party and placed them right next to us. I could hardly hear my husband over the table next to us.
Our waitress told us it was $75/person, which included an appetizer, entree and dessert for both individuals. Okay, whatever. That wasn't clear online, but as long as it was good it would be worth it and we don't go out often.
We ordered our drinks and meal. Both of us ordered cocktails, and both cocktails were watered down and absolutely awful. I couldn't taste the bourbon at all. There was too much ice. The cherries in my husband's drink were not actually muddled. They were just squished at the bottom. The cherries they added as the garnish tasted rotten. I've never had a bad cherry until now. For $14 cocktails, it was a huge disappointment.
Then came the bread. The bread was warm, but we were not provided butter like the other tables. The brie cheese and butter with my husband's appetizer was actually cold even though it had been melted.
We ordered steaks as both of our entrees. My husband's New York strip steak was overcooked and had no flavor. My filet mignon was undercooked. I asked for medium, and was served rare. Not to mention my filet came with french fries and ketchup... french fries. I would expect potatoes and asparagus. At that point, we decided to complain, and leave without eating our entree. We weren't paying $150+ for a meal that was subpar every step of the way.
In looking at their food and drink gallery on their website afterwards, their food and drinks pictured online do not match what we saw on our visit. Such a disappointment. Save your money. You will get better food at a bar than this establishment, unfortunately.

We cannot express enough how thankful we are to Michael and the entire Baker House team for making our wedding events unforgettable. From our rehearsal dinner to our welcome party, every detail was handled with such care and attention. Michael went above and beyond with the menu and drinks, ensuring everything was perfect. We even had the lovely addition of a pianist during our meal, which made the evening so special.
The welcome party in the garden was a huge hit, and the Versailles Bridal Suite was absolutely stunning — the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready. To top it all off, the Baker House provided a delicious wedding day brunch for the entire bridal party!
We highly recommend the Baker House to any couple looking for a beautiful and memorable experience. We can't wait to return for our anniversary!

The house is undeniable charming but the prices do not justify the overall experience. Ridiculously overpriced.
We had a great time at high tea. It was our first experience at the Baker House.
Every single staff member was courteous, polite and genuinely appeared happy to be there. The hors d'oeuvres were tasty and there was a decent selection of teas. I would've liked to see jasmine and maybe something seasonal on the menu like a chai or pumpkin spice tea.
The tour guide was extremely informative and gave us great insight on the history of the property. We would definitely return.

My friend and I went there for afternoon tea. I saw a few other customers, but it certainly wasn’t packed. It took our server 20 minutes to come to our table to ask what we wanted. At that point, she realized no one had given us the menu. She then gave us the menu, took our order and left. It took another 20 minutes to get two pots of tea and a 3-tier tray of pastries and snacks. The tea was barely tea—weak and flavorless. The food was an assortment of store-bought cookies and pastries. It also included toasts topped with egg salad and tuna salad that they must have picked up from the Piggly Wiggly deli when they were buying the cookies. For that we paid $100+ tip. I can’t speak for their dinners, but I certainly recommend that you avoid their afternoon tea.
It took over 30 mins for our first drink and dinner dessert check we were there a total of 3.5 hrs when we wanted to leave and kept asking the waitress what the delay was. The chef recently left and many of the items were not house made and purchased from other vendors. Very disappointed in our experience there.

We dined on a Friday night and they were very short staffed. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the bartender excellent so we had plenty to do while we waited. We did not realize the only option was the $75 3 course fixed price menu - app/salad, main and dessert. Not our first choice but we ordered a salad, steak and dessert to split. Plenty of food for two and it was very good. When we got the bill they charged us for the salad. Silly error since there are only three things you can pick on the menu. Server corrected without an apology. We still enjoyed the meal but doubt we need to go back.
Will not honor a $500 gift certificate bought in 2021 even though the law is all gift certificates must be good for at least 5 years. We were promised a return phone call from management 3 times and never received one. Many emails were sent without response as well. Finally the individual who answered the phone said there was a note at the desk saying the gift certificate would NOT be honored. Obey the law folks!
We had dinner at this lovely spot. Great ambiance. The food was absolutely superb! The only criticism we have is the very slow service esp bar service. We had to wait for our glasses of wine for 10 min after the main course was served. Just sharing so you'll order your drinks in a timely manner, not to deter to experience the phantastic food.
