“We had an incredible stay at Sunrise Lodge and truly can’t say enough good things about the experience. We called just 30 minutes before arriving during a major winter storm, and the owners immediately took care of us — no stress, no hesitation. They secured us an amazing unit and were even able to accommodate a very late checkout, which made a huge difference for our family. What stood out most was the hands-on, genuinely caring ownership. When we briefly lost power due to the storm (which affected the entire area), they personally checked on guests and even dropped off fresh cookies. That small but thoughtful gesture meant so much, especially with kids, and perfectly sums up the level of hospitality here. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the lodge is spotless and comfortable, and the food selections are excellent, with thoughtful accommodations for special dietary needs. If you’re traveling with family and want a place where hospitality is real, proactive, and heartfelt, Sunrise Lodge is truly special. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Northwoods.“
