The Bear Trap Inn: A journey back to Wisconsin supper club paradise the Bear Trap In truly embodies the spirit and tradition of a classic Wisconsin supper club, offering an evening that feels less like dinner and more like a cherished ritual. From the moment you step in, the ambiance evokes a sense of nostalgia, with the warm glow of low lighting and the comfort of plush seating. The evening began with a carefully crafted drink in the bar area. The bartender's expertise in preparing my cocktail of choice was evident, served in a classic heavy-bottomed glass. While sipping my cocktail, conversations with fellow patrons at the lively bar felt effortless, creating a sense of community that is a hallmark of the supper club experience. The dining room, though busy, maintained a comfortable intimacy. The menu, a testament to classic American fare, offered tempting choices from steak and seafood to the quintessential Friday night fish fry. After a brief wait, which allowed for more conversation and anticipation, orders were taken by the friendly and efficient server, Maddie. The meal began with some delicious cheese curds and Tomato Bisque setting the stage for the culinary journey (highly recommend soaking your curds in the bisque). My entree arrived hot and artfully presented. The Pork Ribeye rumored to be a specialty, exceeded expectations, cooked medium-rare and boasting flavor and tenderness. The side dish of Parmesan Risotto was absolutely AMAZING and was suggested by Madi. Even with generous portions, the meal concluded with a huge piece of homemade Carrot Cake. It was a fitting end to a memorable meal, and a testament to the supper club tradition. Bear Trap In. delivers on the Wisconsin supper club experience, combining delicious food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere that invites guests to enjoy the company of friends and family or even by yourself 😉. Guests will certainly return for another taste of this tradition. Thank you Madi for yet another excellent dinning experience and always being so welcoming!
Ordered walleye, was dry and tasteless. Rice pilaf was oily, salty and not cooked. Server was outstanding.

Entrees are up and down between visits. Appetizers are fantastic. Entree prices are pretty out of control. I don’t think there’s an entree under $34.

Always a great time at The Bear Trap in Land O Lakes. Our recent celebration dinner was no exception. Seated at our favorite table, and attended by Laura, the service was efficient, kind, and expertly timed. Our dinners (scallops w/risotto and bbq ribs) were served piping hot and delicious. A stand out of the meal, home made New York cheesecake that was authentic and just amazing. Maddie, Tom, and staff have the right vibe and attitude at this historic eatery. Always a great evening.

A 4 course meal with all parts being 5 stars and more. I had the Bacon wrapped Scallops. The scallop melted right into my taste buds followed by a nice crunch of crispy Bacon. The salad was very aromatic with fresh vegetables. Main dish was a Macadamia Fish Fry with Baked potato. The sauce that came with the fish was a fresh breath of new air. By far the best fish I have had in a long time.

Great meal and cozy place. Friendly and attentive staff
I went here for my grandpa’s 86th birthday with 7 family members recently and the food was stunning. In addition to that the service and ambience was some of the best in the northwoods. My entire family raved about the cheese curds and they are a must if you visit. We will be going back regularly! I would say I found a hidden gem, but shame on me because I was late to party as The Bear Trap Inn is highly rated for good reason. Big fan and congrats on a great establishment!
Dietary restrictions: I have celiacs and had many options available to me.

I could of added a bunch of photos of the amazing bacon wrapped scappops, NY Strip, and unbelievable tenderloin but this photo really says it all... This would be a 5⭐ restaurant in a big city like Fort Lauderdale or NY City but to find a gem like this in tiny town Land O Lakes WI makes it that much more special. Everything we had was truly delicious! The staff was courteous, our food came out in a timely fashion, the ambience was excellent. What else can you say. Just go you won't regret it. Btw the photo is from the bar and that's a rainbow trout pond with a waterfall.....

Had a wonderful dining experience at this iconic Northwoods establishment with dear friends. Great bar, mixed drinks. Pan seared walleye was superb but my garlic stuffed tenderloin was the best steak ever. Ambient atmosphere, excellent personable waitstaff.

Knocked one star off just due to Bear Trap Inn being a tad pricey. But I fully understand why; 1, season is short-got to make hay when the sun is shining; 2, staffing in the great north woods is an ongoing issue. So go there, expect good food and service, tip the staff well and the tab goes with the territory!
