Heard a lot of good things and recommendations about the place, from the internet and locals. Went there last week. We had the Ribeye Steak and Pork Schnitzel, Mushroom App, Side Salad, Clam chowder soup. The pork schnitzel and spätzle texture was good, cooked awesome. No flavor in the pork, spatzle or the cream sauce. I think they forgot the salt. The Ribeye was not very good. Undercooked, chewy. It didn't seem like a dry aged steak but a Sysco special. Flavor was good on the steak. The side salad was ok and I was charged an upcharge for blue cheese dressing expectantly. The mushroom app, the mushrooms were raw and it was pretty greasy with cheese. I wouldn't order it again. The side of sweet potatoes was ok. The clam chowder was so salty that it was inedible and had a metallic taste from so much salt. The drinks were good. The wine pour was light for price. Service from the bartender and the waitress was excellent. Place was clean, nice ambiance. For the two of us, it was $150 and was not a very good meal. This was not what I expected. I typically don't write a review based on the first try of a place and maybe it was an unusual night.

Note: Call for reservations a week in advance. High end food, service and prices. Avoid sitting in the entry area as it is drafty. We found the duck appetizer, salmon, and chips to be excellent. The fries, wedge salad and the corn chowder to be good. The seasonings were very good and the sauces and dressings were unique. The ice cream drinks are a real delicacy. Do not go here if you are on a diet.

I celebrated my birthday with family on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was cozy, especially because we were seated near the fireplace. My sister had the ribs which were outstanding. My husband and I ordered the New York strip steak which were good. Mine was a bit grisly, but had good flavor. Walleye meal was good as well. Superb service and I got to choose a birthday dessert! I recommend.

Love the atmosphere! Beautiful place with great food and service. The Brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes are a must have with whatever you decide to get (it's all good!)... Stuffer mushroom app was AMAZING!

My favorite dinner spot in the area. Make a reservation early or you won’t get in. Great scallops, fish fry, steak and other notable entrees and appetizers. Very cozy and the staff will welcome you with open arms.

After multiple visits, Beat Trap Inn has yet to disappoint. We have explored the menu, beef ravioli, garlic stuffed tenderloin, chicken snitzel, risotto, cheesecake, fish fry… if driving from a distance, it’s worth it. Not far off the snow mobile trail either.

Great Northwoods atmosphere and the service was stellar but was extremely disappointed in the food. Fish was very greasy, fries were over salted.. Prime rib soup was nothing but beef vegetable. Old Fashioned was not good either.. probably the one the worst I have ever had.. no orange+cherry+sugar+bitter muddle.. I will give them another try, next time a steak since that seems to be a house specialty.
