For this place being a CHEESE shop there wasn’t much cheese. I capitalized cheese because that word was plastered all over the billboards. There was way more Moccasins, tourist clothing & Door County wine funnily enough for it not being Door County. $80 Moccasins, $70 mittens & 2 small coolers of cheese & meats.

Its the Day after Christmas. Three clerks at counter. Hubby and I gather our stuff and head to the counter. The elderly lady starts checking our stuff and out of the blue states that the store should only carry item made here. She keeps going and Hubby shares that he is a French Canadian immigrant. She stated that he has been here awhile. He tells her no and then she continues to say that everyone who lives her should learn to eat the things we eat. Not sure how it got there but it did. This lady wouldnt stop she is checking people out talking about how immigrants shouldn't live there.and if they do they shouldn't be who they are, but become a little USA less than perfect person. It was evident this lady looks down on all people who are not born in the USA. My husband moved here after he attained a .working permit, i.e. his green card becuase .he didnt want anyone paying his way. He pworks hard, with the same company for over 13 years. He pays taxes just like you and me.I work in retell and this conversation should not happen. You don't know who your customers are. I have been shopping there for over 50 years. No longer. Very disappointed. Hold your personal opinions to your self when your on the floor.I told her enough already to finish checking us out. We paid grabbed our stuff and got out of there. Last time stopping there for me. Talk to your staff.

It’s a house of cheese. How can you go wrong. Staff is just the nicest. Lots of crafts and goodies to go with your snacks. Clean restrooms. Nice area to walk the dogs. Lots of parking. And did I mention cheese? Grab the curds when they’re fresh and squeak your way to a smile.
