We had a wonderful lunch at Gordo’s today. It’s a fun Mexican Restaurant with good food but what really sets it apart is the amazing, attentive service! We didn’t even order much and our server kept checking back to make sure we were doing ok and to see if we needed anything else. Our server also noticed that we were celebrating a birthday so he brought out a sombrero for the birthday girl to wear, a sopapilla, and he sang happy birthday. We would highly recommend Gordo’s!
Dietary restrictions: They were very accommodating of a vegan in our group
Attentive wait staff, and the food (especially the Molcajete) was amazing! Went here twice the week we were in the area. IMO better than any of the Mexican restaurants in the Dells.

We had lunch. Chips and salsa to start are very good. Just after lunchtime on a Friday, not too busy. My dinning partner had a burrito type combo with rice, beans, and a side of very good guacamole (be sure to check on portion size and price of guacamole). I had the four taquito with lettuce mix meal. Price is good, just be sure to know what you’re ordering as menu isn’t too informative. Two reasonably priced soft drinks were added. No alcohol drinks were consumed. The food portions aren’t huge, but seem to satisfy. Our food was to us quickly, waiter checked in frequently. For dessert we split a cheesecake type thing that was cinnamon coated tortilla that was fried in some manner. Very good, and we were told it was made in house. Recommended for sure. Waiter was polite, a slight bit of a language barrier was easy to deal with. THERE IS NO SENIOR DISCOUNT AVAILABLE. I believe they add in a percent type charge when using a card. Saw a warning about groups of five or more requiring a twenty percent tip.on door. Don’t know if they up charge cards as I didn’t see or ask, bill seemed a little bit more than when I went to pay. Oh well……. The men’s restroom seemed clean, yet dated. Somewhat dark, floor tile a bit slippery. The restaurant carries a normal Mexican theme, could use some updating. Chairs have well worn padding in some cases. It did the job it set out to, an excellent tasting lunch at an ok cost. We will return I’m sure.
Parking: Strip mall like parking, two handicap spots in front. Unfortunately I believe either owner or employee(s) tend to park close to door (non handicapped) in a large pickup truck.

Firat time there but will be back for sure. I appreciated the music was not so loud. Our table of 4 had no issues carrying on a conversation, music volume was perfect background level.
Each of us ordered something different and all were fabulous. Everyone was amazed at how good the side rice was. It had wonderful flavor and was not dried out at all. Appreciated the portion sizes as well; tad more than recommended serving size but not so large it's intimidating.
I had strawberry margarita and friends had peach both blended. Great job with amount of tequila!
Plus we had a service dog with and at first that threw host for a loop but was accepting and showed us to our table which was away from others yet greatly appreciated.
We were checked on a few times during our meal and asked if any refills of drinks needed.
Dietary restrictions: Something for everyone especially if on gluten free diet.
Parking: Plenty of areas to park with 2 handicap spots right infront of main door

Excellent Mexican food. Some of the best refried beans we've EVER eaten. The carne asada is very well seasoned. All their dishes have beautiful full flavor.
