Palenque Mexican Bar & Grill

We love the food at Palenque!

The chicken tasted either fishy or like dirty dish water. We could not decide. The beef, beans and rice tasted fine. The tortillas and chips were a little stale. Overall the look and feel was a standard mid-west Mexican restaurant. The staff was very nice. The place the clean.

Good chilaqules in red sauce, wish there was an egg on top though

My margarita came very quickly so I'm afraid it came from a dispenser. It was served in a rectangular glass which was awkward to drink from but was good nonetheless. I ordered a chimi Verde, not on the menu but served nicely with Verde(green sauce) on my chimichunga. My wife ordered fajitas and they came quickly and did not sizzle as one would expect.

Everyone got sick right after eating here! Nachos were a soupy mess and only came with a handful of chips, meat, and watery cheese - couldn’t even lift up a single chip it was so soggy and ended up getting a side of chips. Quesadilla had chunks of random crusty chicken pieces and also had refried beans even though that’s not how the menu describes it. Paid for rice that never arrived. Frozen margarita was not fully blended.

We stopped in for my MIL’s birthday. Staff were super friendly, loved our waiter! Our food came super fast, and was really flavorful! I had steak and chicken fajitas and had plenty left over for lunch the next day.
