Boo to carrots
Very good ice cream
A fun and lovely Wisconsin Ice Cream shop. Their flavors are creative and delicious. We stop when we can to enjoy.
We were recommended this place and i'm so glad we went. The flavor names were so fun. I got iced latte da. It was delicious!!! Will definitely return!
Chocolate shoppe always hits, but it is unfortunate that ever since they moved the Middleton location (from across from Culver’s to by metro market) it just isn’t the same. It seems their freezers are not cold enough. When scooping a cone it’s already melting when they hand it to you. This has been a consistent problem since they opened this one.
Also, a few tips for the guy behind the counter- don’t make us feel rushed and unwelcome when making a flavor decision. It’s not like you’re on a salary. Also if my kid asks for cotton candy - PLEASE scoop it so it’s half blue and half pink. Obviously that’s why a 3.5 yr old chose it. And when she throws a fit, don’t act inconvenienced when I pause my order to calm her down and negotiate.
My adult kids loved this place!! Except it's so hard to make a decision with sooo many great flavors. My daughter just gave in and got a flight of flavors!
Whenever we come to Madison, we try to visit the Chocolate Shoppe. The Zanzibar and Zanzimint are great!
Chocolate Shoppe has the absolute best dairy-free/vegan ice cream! Very creamy with great flavors. Try the blue moon, but they’re all really good!
Awesome ice cream!

The service was awesome, we were even greeted with smiles! The ice cream was delicious. Wish they offered more than one "ice" flavor, but you take what you can get.

Disappointed that they moved the location from Parmenter St. However, the first time since this placed open it was a nice environment. Very clean and welcoming staff. The ice cream was good. We went two more times in a matter of a month or so… staff was extremely rude. Their facial expressions shows they don’t like their job. My 7 year old asked what comes on a sundae and the gentlemen behind the counter moved his neck and rolled his eyes before he explained. I appreciate staff for giving my children an extra scoop of ice cream- HOWEVER if it’s a cone and it’s tipping over and dripping I would caution that you don’t over fill it so it falls over and drips everywhere. It was a mess.
It was by far the worst experiences we have had from a Chocolate Shoppe.

LOVE the selections! Almost too many to choose from as I wanted them all! Solid ice cream every visit!
I was ignored for two minutes before they finally made my order of one dish of Zanzibar ice cream. I've seen better service, and it's only one dish, so I left no tip. The guy working there let out a deep sigh when he saw I didn't tip and didn't say anything else. Like, it's not even my fault your boss pays you minimum wage and you can't even pretend you care about this job.

Is this the same store that was at Parmenter st? I can't believe. A few days ago, so disappointed.
I ordered two flavors of ice cream in a pint.
While I was waiting for my order, I saw that the staff scooped the incorrect flavor out of my pint and turned it back into the original large container!! The container was becoming contaminated with other flavor which was already in the pint and a bit of water remaining after washing the scoop. Is it okay with the food hygiene regulation?! And I could guess the reason some parts of the surface of ice cream in most of containers. were overly mushy.
Then when I opened my pint, I found it was almost like a mixed ice cream SOUP. Since he put the ice cream in, took it out, and put it back in, it makes sense. That was pretty bad, even considering it's summer.
Given that the staff's exhausted face expression and sloppy attitude, I couldn't even complain it. I couldn't expect any further modifications. Even if he made a new one, I would still be stuck with the ice cream soup. Me and my family barely ate two spoonfuls and just threw it away.
