The food was great. We had less than stellar service, our server was nice but I ordered a wine flight to pair with my 3 courses plus a sparkling wine to start. The wines didn't come until after the first course was done. They never brought the second course or any bread so I ended up having 4 glasses of wine for my main course which was ok, but not what I had planned on . I'm sure the recommended pairings are great with the food as Ive heard others recommend doing that; hopefully next time I'll be able to enjoy them together! The medallion trio was great as was the buratta sausage flat bread!

Lisa the manager runs a tight ship she is super attentive to detail. The shrimp risotto was fantastic came out hot and fresh. The non spirit drinks are also phenomenal.

Truly made our Anniversary celebration exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything flowed smoothly, thanks to our prior reservation, and the staff was warm and attentive. I discreetly mentioned our special occasion to the manager, and her thoughtful, understated approach made us feel both celebrated and at ease. A complimentary glass of champagne was offered to toast the evening, a lovely and much-appreciated touch.
The food was extraordinary, with each dish presented beautifully and bursting with flavor. We barely waited before our meals arrived, a testament to both the skill of the kitchen and the efficiency of the staff. Our drinks were equally impressive, crafted to perfection and complemented the meal perfectly.
Dining at Cooper’s Hawk was an exquisite experience, and we’re grateful for their attention to detail that made our evening feel so unique and memorable.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in the Madison area. The customer service is always A1 and the food is amazing! I wish I would have taken a picture of my empty plate when I finished! Lol Lisa(manager) is THE BEST!! She is always walking around checking on everyone, making us feel so welcomed and that makes the experience even better!! I’m going to miss My Chocolate Almond wine when I move back to the South.

Lisa is the best manager I’ve ever encountered. She has great hospitality and the reason I continue to come back every week. Alan the server has great customer service skills and amazing at what he does. My food came out within 10 minutes and the restaurant was pack. This is by far my favorite restaurant. Oh yeah and the wine is great!!! My recommendation is chocolate almond!!!

This was the first less-than excellent experience I've had at Cooper's Hawk ("CH"). I'm a member of their wine club (which is a great value), and so dine there fairly regularly.
The food was excellent, as usual. My dining companion follows a gluten-free diet, and CH has an ample gluten-free menu. We split two gf appetizers and two gf entrees. Most were excellent, the gf Bruscetta was good (and how many places would even attempt a gf bruschetta?).
But on this night the service really struggled. Our server was nice and tried hard, but I got the impression that she was new, and was not yet adequately trained. In our row of tables, food and drinks were repeatedly brought to the wrong table. Our first round of drinks took probably 15 minutes to arrive, we had to ask twice for water and the complimentary breads (one pretzel, one gf) were not delivered to our table until maybe half an hour in, and only after we asked for them.
CH has set a far higher standard than this experience, and its not a cheap place, so I hope and expect that they'll be back on their game next time!

Decent establishment but food lacks any real depth for the cost. Portions seem small for the price and lunch service is incredibly slow despite not being very busy

I ate in the bar area, which I asked for as a single diner. The space between bar top tables is absolute bare minimum, so when servers (or patrons) need to get between tables they can't help but invade the space of others.
The other odd thing is the check in experience? There were 3 women at the hostess stand, and every one of them has to talk to you. The first asked for my name, then hands a card to the 2nd (literally a foot away) and that lady finds/assigns the table, then she hands your card to the third to seat you. If you think I'll just talk to the lady at the computer, they'll redirect you to lady #1. It seemed unnecessarily complicated, but maybe I just don't know. ?
Overall it was fab. The atmosphere was kind of subdued with lots of dark wood, which I feel like the pix on Google don't do justice. The wine room is large, spacious and beautiful. My waiter was wonderful and the perfect amount of attentive.
As for the food? I got the braised short ribs (classic, though they had a special that was Asian influenced short ribs) and it was so amazing, I regret not taking a photo to remember it fondly in years to come. I also got a traditional brandy old fashioned and it too was great.

Parking: I parked on the street and got confused about how to walk in. If you park in the lot just on the other side of the building, it was more obvious where the front door was.
