This restaurant understands gluten free! Just ask when you order if they can make your favorite entree without gluten. I'm very gluten sensitive and am happy to have found a Chinese restaurant that can accommodate my allergy successfully--I don't get sick and the food tastes great! My spouse is a fan too. For years we lived closer and didn't appreciate Imperial Garden as we should have, but now we have moved farther away. I've learned that it's worth the thirty minute drive. We usually opt for pick-up. The people at the front desk are friendly and efficient. My husband's menu favorite is the Governor's chicken (spicy), and I prefer their mild but delicious mushroom chicken. The beef & broccoli is hit or miss, but the egg drop soup is a nice surprise with more veggies than expected.

Burbank Place

One of my favorite places in the greater Madison area. Consistently great, and reasonably priced. Our "go-to" for Chinese American cuisine.

Best Chinese food in town. Full stop. You owe it to yourself to give this place a try.

Imperial Garden has had consistently great food over many years. I was thrilled to dine here on a recent weeknight. We started with chicken eggrolls and wonton soup. Of the two, I thought the soup was more impressive. The broth was light and tasty, and the pork wontons were plump and plentiful. For the mains, we shared a beef in oyster sauce and an order of shrimp lo-mein. The beef was incredibly tender and delicious, and all of the veggies were super fresh. Both dishes were super large. Can't wait to go back.

We’re from out of town and stopped here when we heard they had gluten free options. I have a pretty intense intolerance. The food was really good!! And I didn’t have any reaction which is incredible because I usually do when eating out. The service was 10/10 amazing- everyone was so kind! I wish I remembered our waiter’s name, he was phenomenal and made sure we had everything we needed even though it was really busy!! Major props to him & everyone! The atmosphere was lovely, from the lighting to the art- so beautiful! And the prices were more than fair for how much food we got & the quality of food. We loved it and if we’re ever in town we will definitely be back!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options!

Recently dined here after a 40 year hiatus while working in East Asia. It is the best Chinese-American style restaurant in the area, to be sure, but the dishes are not altogether authentic. However, to be fair, I wasn't expecting that anymore than when I lived in Honolulu or Houston. One must venture to China or Taiwan to get the real deal (and at a much cheaper price). Still, I'm glad to see they're still around.

If you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine, this American Chinese restaurant might not be the best choice. It appears the chef has strayed from traditional cooking methods since their early days. The dishes often resemble prepackaged meals, and the wait time for service can be notably prolonged.

As our favorite and local Chinese restaurant, my husband and I wanted no other food at our wedding than Imperial Garden. When we connected with Imperial Garden on this somewhat odd request, they were incredibly accommodating and helpful! The most special day of our lives was absolutely transformed by having Chinese food catered. Dinner was SUCH a hit with guests! No bland chicken and veggies here! We ordered our favorites- beef and broccoli, Governor's beef, and sweet and sour chicken. I cannot thank Imperial Garden enough for their help, kindness, and generosity towards us. We'll be dining with them on our anniversary every year, to celebrate and relive the memories!
