I waited 25 minutes for a $16 sandwich during my lunch hour. Then I decided to simply ask for a refund. A guy behind the counter with a plaid, long sleeve shirt and a baseball hat cursed at me and told me that I could wait in line get the manager’s business card so that I could call and try to get a refund. He also cursed at his coworker who was tasked with running his slowly-made sandwiches to tables.
Another employee helped me receive a refund at the counter, directly contradicting what the rude employee told me.

The breakfast sandwich I ordered was awful, I couldn’t and wouldn’t eat it. Just a simple egg, cheddar cheese and bacon sandwich on an English muffin. Opened the tinfoil and the English muffin greasy top and bottom. Bacon raw luckily there was a garbage next to me... Girls at the counter were very friendly. Coffee was okay.

Tried for the first time and food was great! Had a delicious chipotle chicken sandwich. Pretty pricey at $15 and didn't include anything but for being on Wisconsin Ave I can understand the higher price point.

I don’t doubt that the food here is great. However— I stopped in to get a coffee this morning at like 8:30 and found a mostly empty cafe. I ordered a large iced latte with honey and then moved a little to wait for my drink. A few employees and customers entered and left. After 10 minutes or so it was clear to me that I was the only customer in the cafe, and my latte does not exist. The employee who took my order evidently had to leave promptly for mars or something. As someone who had the slightest chance of not being late to work before this delay, this was infuriating (not to be dramatic). I informed a different employee who was apologetic and made my drink quickly. My last bit of bad news is that it was the worst drink I’ve ever paid for. It was as though I was handed military coffee with a splash of milk, and no sign of ice in my now room-temp cup of liquid. Don’t know what happened here, team.

I use to work at this place and was treated poorly I experienced racism I experience mistreatment I experience mishandlement of money from general manager my main problem was the racism part I'm an African American woman and was the only African-American woman working in the establishment at the time I had to write a work complaint upon Miss Jill ruffing with the eeco expressing the things I have encountered with at 600 East Cafe with Jill ruffing who runs the cafe I was experiencing racism since January 30th all the way up until February 23rd of 2024 due to my skin I and other staff also had a problem with money that is owed to us through tips that's supposed to be presented every Friday but without a paper trail there was a problem asking about that with Jill ruffing I was told to scrub walls scrub sinks I was also giving a list of things different from other coworkers since being the only African American woman present at the time of business I was looked down on I was talked about I was treated different this business definitely gets one star or little to none treated me like modern-day slavery very prejudice very unfair wants the power of control she gets mad when you speak up for yourself she also fired another co-worker who was speaking of for herself due to the fact that we get tips every Friday and things wasn't on a paper trail was told this is her business and she will run it like how she will run it I have reached out to the eeco workforce to have this complaint and other complaints filed against ruffing at 600 East Cafe very racism place running by Jill ruffing
What a lovely and kindly staff who works here ! Hot beverages were really good and the place is beautiful ! Enjoyed our time here and we'll be back on our next trip ! Thanks for all ????

Food is delicious. Order the wraps! We had the Greek wrap and the avocado turkey wrap and the turkey club. I love their sandwiches. Quiet place. I love it hear if you're looking for decent breakfast brunch or lunch that's not as busy as your local Starbucks come to this place. :) last time I came here was 4 years ago they food is delicious price is what you expect from a downtown establishment. Just a short walk from the lakefront!
