I come here at least twice a month for the falafel balls, vegan vegetable soup, or the falafel burger.

I saw that they had the Dubai strawberries online a few weeks ago, so I went to go try it out. When I walked in, I saw they had one sitting in the display case that was wrapped up. I decided to get our food first since that would be dessert. by the time me and my kids got all of our food over 45 minutes had passed. When I went back to get the strawberries, he pulled the one out of the case, drizzled chocolate on top of it, and made one fresh one. He handed my daughter, the fresh one which looked fine, but the one he handed me had clearly been sitting there for a while. The strawberries were soft and starting to change color. There was liquid at the bottom of the cup from where the strawberries had started to drain, and all of the chocolate on the bottom of the cup was completely hard so I couldn’t even dig through the cup. I asked them for a fresh cup, and they told me that my cup was made five minutes ago. I told them that I seen that exact same cup in that exact same position that he grabbed sitting in the case when I had got there an hour before. The staff went and got the owner and he came out and called me a liar. I told him that he was absolutely rude and that there was no way I was going to pay for old strawberries. And then he forced his staff to make me a new one. After all of that the strawberries were not even good. Even the fresh ones. I prefer the ones at Gordo’s, or melt and dip. Would not recommend!

Our institution recently attempted to contact this business regarding catering services for a college reception hosting approximately 120 guests. After four days without a response, I followed up by phone. When I read the email address we had used, the individual on the line stated, “I have no idea who that is.” I then asked what the best method of contact would be for catering inquiries, and he replied, “You’re trying to sell me something.” I clarified that we were not selling anything we were seeking catering services. He then stated he did not want to work with us, accusing us again of trying to sell him something.
Despite my respectful tone throughout the call, he concluded the conversation by saying, “You know what, you’re a POS to me.” I was stunned by the hostility and unprovoked insult. He was aware of our institution’s name and the nature of our request yet chose to respond in an extremely unprofessional and offensive manner.
I’ve since left a detailed voicemail around 10:30 AM requesting a call back from the owner. I believe an apology is warranted, and I sincerely hope this individual is not representative of the company’s values. No customer or potential client should be treated this way, and I would be deeply concerned if others have had similar experiences.

I thought the Dubai chocolate strawberries were fire and reasonably priced compared to everyone else tryna price gauge on the Dubai chocolate craze.

Aladdin USED TO serve great food, but today I received maybe the driest, toughest “chicken kabob” (not really grilled on a kabob) I’ve gotten from any of the local middle eastern restaurants. The hummus was pretty good but it was hard to enjoy with the soggy, cold pita bread. I can’t even imagine that any part of my meal was made fresh as it tasted like week old leftovers poorly reheated. It’s sad to see one of my Milwaukee Public Market favorites drop the ball this hard.

I’m actually very sorry to give this place such a low rating. I want the local eateries, especially Asian ones (I just have a personal interest in them), to succeed. Especially when they are nice and give you smiles. And they were so nice!

Chicken Shawarma Bowl

The reason for the rating is the chicken. I have never said this before in all the reviews I’ve done. The chicken tasted like cardboard. It looked good. But it was So. Dry. Any seasoning it had, and it looked like it did, I couldn’t taste, because the chicken was so dry.

I truly hope that this is not their norm and I just got an old batch of chicken - well, not really hope that, cuz that’s just wrong - but this was definitely a ruined meal for it.

Which was sad, because everything else about the salad was good. Except for one thing I would change - I would ask for the dressing on the side. But otherwise, all the salad items were fresh, crisp, and good. But every time I was enjoying the crunchy cucumber, I would try the chicken again, and be like, bleh. In the end, I did end up throwing away half of the dish. I don’t do that - I’m all about saving the leftovers and making another meal. But I really wasn’t going to do that with this.

I’m so disappointed that I don’t know if I’ll go back to spend money on an experiment here again. But it did look like it had a stream of business from other patrons, and it has a decent rating on google, so who knows.

We order Egyptian rice, shawarma platter, shakshuka, and filafil cheese burger. The only thing I liked the beat is their filafel cheese burger. The rest of the food was okay. The shawarma platter was more like a shawarma salad. There was no rice in it. It's located in the Milwaukee public market.

We had veggie falafel wrap, falafel sandwich and veggie soup. It was amazingly delicious. We very much enjoyed the food. Great choice for vegetarians. Highly recommend to try the sesame honey crust.

Tried the strawberries Dubai chocolate, thought it was a tad over priced. The fudge also was a bit runny, would have preferred dark over milk chocolate. However glad they’re in the market and we frequently support their stand!
